Even though the first season revival of Will & Grace has not yet ended, NBC already sees the promise of a new tomorrow extending season 2 and ordering a season 3 for Fall 2019. “As far as I’m concerned, we can’t get enough of Will & Grace, and 23 more episodes is music to my ears,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said. Sean Hayes (Just Jack) took to Twitter announcing the news:

Before the revival even aired, NBC had already extended the offer of a second season with 13-episodes. The magic 23 number includes 5 more shows for season 2 and an 18-episode request for season 3.  The new shows reunited original castmates of Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes on a short-term basis. This extension allowed renegotiation of contracts with rumored salaries upward of $250,000 per episode.

Will & Grace rebooted has attracted significant numbers for NBC in the always important 18-49 demographic as part of the Must-See Thursday lineup. The show not only attracts viewers but a few guest stars including Alec Baldwin, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Platt, Jane Lynch and Molly Shannon.

Originally airing from 1998-2006, Will & Grace garnered 16 Emmy awards during its run. Catch the last few episodes of the revival Thursday nights on NBC.
