After Shane Gillis’ (Tires, Bupkis) monologue from latest episode on Saturday Night Live, Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek, Big Mistakes) speaks his mind on what Gillis said. According to Deadline, Levy posted an Instagram reel Sunday night after the episode was released.
In his monologue, Gillis goes into detail about the gym and how women are wearing neon-colored pants that make them look artificial. He then goes to saying, “And don’t look! You’re not allowed to look. For real! Don’t look, ‘cause they are filming.”
Levy opens in the reel with saying: “Women wearing short shorts at the gym does not make them whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There’s a difference there. By the way, I’ve seen more men’s nipples at the gym than I’ve ever seen women showing their bodies off.”
Levy continues: “I’m speechless that something like that can exist on live national television. And to be perfectly honest, more men to be standing up in opposition to it because it’s complacency that has created the environment in which woman are sexually assaulted and it’s a ‘conversation’ as opposed to a ‘crime.’”
Levy has hosted SNL back in 2021, so he was surprised they would air a joke on the show like this. He found the monologue to be offensive and believed men should do better in standing up for women. He goes into explaining how it is everyone’s issue on this matter that has men treating women as objects, going farther from the media.

Another issue comes up that same night with Gillis accidentally dropping the F-bomb in a Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham Sketch. He did apologize during the sketch and a few members joked in the sketch about Gillis cursing. Gillis hosted in 2024 and 2025 after getting fired in 2019 as a cast member on the late-night-show. The NBC network made the decision after he made anti-Asian and anti-gay comments.
