NBC’s Saturday Night Live has added new cast members for their ensemble in season 52, which returns on September 26th with host Brunson and musical guest Katseye. According to Variety, Grace Reiter (The Chair Company) and Saidah Belo-Osagie (Tinge) will join the sketch comedy series.
This casting announcement is coming later than the usual troupe in early September, but it is SNL’s final cast announcement before the season starts. Members from Season 51 will return. However, Chole Fineman (Summer of 69, Dickinson) will not be returning as she announced her departure back in July, neither will Martin Herlihy (Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain, The Breadwinner) as he as revealed his departure this past week. Bowen Yang (Bros, Wicked) also won’t return as he left in December mid-season.
Born in Wisconsin, Reiter is a stand-up comedian and actor who is mostly known working with the film production company called “American High.” She is also starring in the upcoming series, Minimum Wage, that is premiering on Netflix October 26th.
From Queens, Belo-Osagie is a Nigerian American filmmaker and comedian now based in Brooklyn. She created the event series called Afrobeats Futura and the solo show called Saidah Gets Closure.
Both participated in auditions as cast members for SNL over this summer, where “SNL” executives evaluated them with dozens of other comedians.
