Nearly 10 years after 2 Broke Girls ended, co-stars Kat Dennings (Thor, WandaVision) and Beth Behrs (The Neighborhood, Twin Blades) are reuniting on the set of ABC’s Shifting Gears. According to Variety, season three of the sitcom, which stars Dennings, will feature Behrs as a guest star.

Shifting Gears follows headstrong widower Matt, played by Tim Allen (Home Improvement, Last Man Standing), as he runs his classic car restoration business. Matt faces a new kind of restoration when his estranged daughter Riley and her children move in with him.

The show stars Dennings, Allen, Seann William Scott (Dolly, Bad Man), Daryl “Chill” Mitchell (Brothers, Galaxy Quest), Maxwell Simkins (The Sleepover, And So It Goes) and Barret Margolis.

The reunion comes as another exciting announcement for Shifting Gears fans after ABC renewed the show for a third season in April. According to Variety, Behrs will play a “beautiful emergency room doctor who treats Riley (Dennings) for a back injury.” Behrs will also reunite with showrunner Michelle Nader, who was the co-showrunner and executive producer on 2 Broke Girls.

Behrs’ appearance will not be the first reunion Shifting Gears has brought to the screen. Allen previously reunited with his Last Man Standing co-star Nancy Travis (Ordinary Angles, Becker), who appeared as Charlotte, a widow who encourages Matt to attend support group meetings.

The series also brings together Allen and his former Home Improvement co-stars Patricia Richardson (Last Man Standing, Snow Bride), Debbe Dunning (Leprechaun 4: In Space, The Misery Brothers) and Richard Karn (Assembly Required).

Nader serves as the Shifting Gears showrunner and an executive producer. Allen, Bob Daily (Frasier, Superior Donuts), Jim Patterson (The Ranch, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me), Marty Adelstein (One Piece, The Better Sister), Becky Clements (One Piece, The Better Sister), Richard Baker (The Santa Clauses, Last Man Standing), Rick Messina (The Risky Revenge, Hostage X) and John Amodeo (Last Man Standing, United We Fall) are also executive producers of the show. Dennings and 20th Television produce the show.

The third season of Shifting Gears will air in 2027.
