Episode 7 begins with Shyanne getting a phone call from Margo, who tells her that Mark is pursuing full custody of Bodhi. Alarmed, Shyanne quickly leaves and heads to Lace’s law office to meet Margo and Jinx. There, Lace explains that while Mark has the right to request full custody, California courts generally prefer a 50-50 custody arrangement. She outlines three possible paths for Margo: agree to split custody, fight the case in court, or choose mediation, which she refers to as the more affordable, quicker, and fairer option. Margo decides to move forward with mediation.
The episode then shifts to Margo, Shyanne, and Lace arriving for the mediation meeting. Inside, they come face-to-face with Mark, Elizabeth, and their attorney, making for a tense and uncomfortable encounter. Since only Margo, Mark, and their attorneys are permitted in the session, Shyanne and Elizabeth are asked to remain in the waiting room.
During the mediation, Mark argues that Margo is an unfit mother. He points to her financial struggles, mentions that her father is a violent man that broke his arm, and criticizes her being a sex worker. He even throws an explicit photo of Margo onto the table, claiming that her OnlyFans career could negatively affect Bodhi in the future as he gets older and forms friendships. Margo listens to all of this, fighting back tears. At the same time, tensions erupt in the waiting room between Shyanne and Elizabeth. Elizabeth accuses Margo of manipulating Mark sexually and cruelly suggests she learned that behavior from Shyanne because of her previous job at Hooters. Enraged by this assumption, Shyanne impulsively socks Elizabeth in the face. The episode then cuts to Kenny escorting Shyanne out of the police station. He tells her that Elizabeth’s jaw has been broken and that she may require surgery. Shyanne admits that she might be more trouble than he expected, but Kenny reassures her, saying she’s everything he could ever want.
Back at home, Margo fills Susie in on everything that happened. Susie mentions that Jinx has been in the bathroom for over an hour. Concerned, Margo knocks on the door and calls for him, but there’s no answer. When she discovers the door is locked, panic sets in, and she uses her old college ID to force it open. Inside, they find Jinx unconscious in the bathtub with a heroin needle still in his arm. Though they manage to wake him, he’s severely disoriented and unable to stand properly. As they try to help him out of the tub, he suddenly collapses onto Margo, pinning her underwater. Susie struggles, but eventually pulls him off Margo, only to realize he has stopped breathing. She immediately begins CPR while Margo frantically searches for Naloxone. Once she injects him with it, Jinx suddenly gasps awake.
Paramedics load Jinx into the ambulance, and not long after, Shyanne and Kenny rush to the ER to meet Margo. In the hospital room, Jinx apologizes to Margo for everything that happened. Lace suddenly makes an appearance, pulling Margo aside for a private conversation. She explains that Mark has requested a 730 custody evaluation, which means Margo will have to undergo a psychiatric assessment and a home inspection to evaluate her living situation with Bodhi. Lace stresses that the situation with Jinx could seriously damage Margo’s case and urges her to get him out of the house as soon as possible because of how bad the optics are working against her.

Back at home, Margo vents to Susie, wondering where Jinx is even supposed to go on such short notice. Susie tries to comfort her but ultimately insists that he has to leave, telling Margo that she can’t solve his drug problem for him. Meanwhile, Jinx checks himself into a methadone clinic and reveals that his addiction began after he injured his back during a wrestling move—a lariat takedown.
Later, Shyanne offers to let Jinx stay at her house since she’s mostly been living with Kenny anyway. Before he settles in, she warns him to stay out of trouble and be on his best behavior. That night, Margo accompanies Jinx back to her apartment so he can collect his belongings. But when they open the door, they’re surprised to find CPS waiting inside. The social workers explain that they’ve received a complaint and are there to evaluate Margo with Bodhi and inspect the apartment. It’s also revealed that the visit is unrelated to the custody battle. Though initially shaken, Margo eventually calms down and agrees to cooperate with the inspection. Before they begin, Jinx speaks up and admits to his struggles with drug addiction. He clarifies that he no longer lives at the apartment and is currently in the process of moving out.
The episode ends with one CPS worker observing Margo as she changes Bodhi’s diaper while another inspects Susie’s room. After noticing the camera equipment, the worker asks Susie whether it’s connected to Margo’s work as an OnlyFans creator. That question leads Susie to suspect that Mark was the one who reported them. Once the inspection is finished, the workers inform them that all three of them—Margo, Jinx, and Susie—will be required to undergo drug testing as part of the evaluation. The news leaves Margo staring back in shock and fear.
Episode 7 of Margo’s Got Money Troubles finds Margo as she hits new lows, her circumstances continuously worsening. Her unconventional family dynamic and stubborn resilience—traits that make her such a layered and compelling character—begin to work against her in this episode, especially when contrasted with Mark’s polished, composed demeanor. This contrast becomes most apparent during the mediation, where Mark outlines why he believes Margo is an unfit mother. For the first time, viewers are made to feel the full weight of the custody battle and may even worry about Margo’s ability to keep Bodhi, given that up to this point she has largely been seen pushing through challenges with determination and heart in both her best and worst moments. We’ve never actually seen Margo’s OnlyFans work directly impact Bodhi’s life, but when Mark raises the concern that it could affect his ability to make friends in the future, Margo is left silent and visibly shaken, realizing it’s a consequence she hadn’t even considered. What stands out even more in this moment is the way it becomes clear that Margo is still very young—thrown into a situation she never asked for, yet continuing to push forward and make it work as best she can, while Mark, who initially took advantage of her, remains positioned to come out of everything unscathed. The cast delivers strong performances throughout the episode, with Nick Offerman offering a restrained but powerful portrayal of a father overwhelmed by family turmoil, briefly escaping through relapse before confronting the damage that, too, has caused. The episode does come to a confusingly abrupt ending, but it still leaves viewers wondering whether Margo will ultimately gain custody of Bodhi in the finale.
