It comes to no surprise that NBC’s Law and Order: SVU is one of the few longest running series in Television. So it is no wonder that the series has been renewed for a 28th season.
For those who don’t know, Law and Order: SVU tells a story about an elite squad of NYPD detectives who investigate and prosecute sexually-based crimes, domestic violence, and child abuse. According to Deadline, SVU had received a two season renewal for the show. The 28th season is said to be released around the year 2026 and 2027. There has been no word on when the 29th season will be released. The series has gone through multiple cast changes in the first couple of seasons after its 2022 launch. Out of all the shows on NBC, Law and Order is believed to have the strongest chance of renewal than The Hunting Party and Brilliant Minds.
The cast consists of Mariska Hargitay (Law and Order, Law and Order: Organized Crime), Dann Florek (The Pitt, Chili Finger), Kelli Giddish (Law and Order, Law and Order: Organized Crime), Peter Scanavino (Law and Order, Law and Order: Organized Crime), BD Wong (100% Real with Ashleigh Ewad Talk Show, Gremlins: Secret of the Mogwai), Octavio Pisano (Broken Ranch, Presence), Kevin Kane (Caper, Life and Beth), Aimé Donna Kelly (The Pearl and the Onion, Chicago Med), Ryan Buggle (Love in Storytown, Momentary Housing), Peter Hermann (Blue Bloods, And Just Like That…), Michael Mastro (FBI, Tesla), Corey Cott (The Show Must Go On, Fortune), Ashley Taylor Greaves (The Actor, What If I Were You), Noma Dumezweni (Nature, Murderbot), Paul Bomba (FBI: Most Wanted, Powe Book III: Raising Kanan), andMichael Kostroff (Platonic, Catalogue of Noses).
We will have to keep our eyes peeled for a trailer, in the meantime the previous seasons of the show can be streamed on Peacock in order to catch up for the new season.
