The season finale of Netflix acclaimed drama series, Wednesday has left viewers with bigger questions. According to Screenrant, we see in the finale that Wednesday, played Jenna Ortega (Death of a Unicorn, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) goes on mission with her Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen (Fallout, The Super Mario Bros. Movie) in order to find Enid, played by Emma Myers (A Minecraft Movie, Family Switch) and hopefully to turn her back. Along the way, she has a vision and found out that her missing Aunt Ophelia is trapped within her Grandma Hester’s, played by Joanna Lumley (Amandaland, Fool Me Once) house.
In an interview with Screenrant, the series’s creator, Alfred Gough (Into the Badlands, Shanghai Knights) and Miles Millar (The Shannara Chronicles, I Am Number Four), along with Hunter Doohan (Daredevil: Born Again, Soundwave), who plays Tyler in the series talk about the finale plot twist. Gough opens up with,”It was always the plan to give viewers a glimpse of her at the end of the season in a way that they weren’t expecting, and then that’s a driver into season three.”
Reported by Screenrant, Millar continues,”That’s definitely something we explore in season two. How does Ophelia fit into the Addams family and what will she bring? It’s going to be really interesting to see if Morticia’s concerns are realized. Ophelia has been gone a long time. It’s left a hole in Morticia’s life, and a lot of unanswered questions. The re-emergence of Ophelia is going to hit this family like a bomb. The journal is really this sign of détente, acceptance, and embracing that Wednesday’s growing up. It’s a moment of trust. It’s a big moment for Morticia. Wednesday acknowledges that.”
Stated by Screenrant, the creator’s comments set the stage for Wednesday’s upcoming journey. The complete first and second seasons of Wednesday are available to stream on Netflix, while viewers await updates regarding the upcoming third season.
