According to ComicBook, Netflix announced that the third season of Alice In Borderland will be released this year. The series just like Squid Games focuses on death games that players must face to survive only with a more supernatural touch.

Alice In Borderland is based on an anime and manga series with the same name. It features a mysterious force bringing contestants to what appears to be an abandoned Japan that no longer has citizens walking its streets. The main character Arisu and his friends are individuals who are pulled into this life-or-death game and from the start quickly learn how real the stakes are. The group must adapt quickly in the familiar but different environment and win games in order to survive.

The series cast includes Kento Yamazaki (Golden Kamuy) as Arisu, Tao Tsuchiya (The Diamond Sleeping in the Sea) as Usagi, Nijiro Murakami (The Yin Yang Master Zero) as Chishiya, Aya Asahina (From the End of the World) as Kuina and many others.

As per ComicBook, the third season will feature the first time that The Joker will be seen in the series. In the series there are playing cards are used to represent different games that the characters must participate in and in every deck there’s a joker.

Netflix revealed a new poster for the new season along with a new description. The description for the third season reads as follows: “The Joker card has now appeared, marking the triumphant return of Alice in Borderland. Fans can expect an adrenaline-fueled rollercoaster ride as the series continues to explore profound themes of humanity, sacrifice and the pursuit of a meaningful existence.”
