The highly renowned Dungeons and Dragons group Critical Role has announced that they will be performing a live show to support a charity to aid after the events of the California Wildfires. The group is well known for revolutionizing how people see the famous tabletop game and use it for entertainment to help those in need through the Critical Role Foundation.
Every donations will go into funding temporary houses, food, medical aid and all other necessities for those who have been heavily impacted from the raging wildfires.
The show, Freaky Thursday, will be hosted by Matter Mercer (Overwatch) as it highlights characters from Bells Hells, which consists of Ashton, played by Taliesin Jaffe (Ergo Proxy), Chetney, played Travis Willingham (Avengers Assemble), Fearne, played by Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us), Imogen, played by Laura Bailey (Secret Level), Laudna, played Marisha Ray (Candela Obscura), Orym, played by Liam O’Brien (Naruto Shippuden) and Braius, played by Sam Riegel (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
Fans can contribute to the cause by donating through Critical Role‘s Tiltify fundraiser page, where they can also vote on the challenges Bells Hells will face. From monstrous encounters to treacherous hazards, every donation will directly influence the party’s fate, making this an interactive and impactful event for a worthy cause. This interactive element makes the charity stream a truly collaborative effort between Critical Role and their dedicated community, the Critters. Currently, the group has raised around $430k, which showcases the group’s commitment to supporting communities in need.
The live performance will be on January 30 at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET, and fans will be able to stream it through Twitch, YouTube or Beacon. The one-shot promises an evening of thrilling gameplay, hilarious moments and heartwarming camaraderie while making a real-world impact.
