Disney Plus’s original series ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ season one episode four entitled “Chapter 4” starts with Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett in a flashback as he tries to find a way into Larry Ward’s Jaba the Hutt’s palace due to his need to recover his ship. Unfortunately, Boba knows that he is heavily outmatched. The interesting part about this is how he ends up finding Ming Wen’s Fennec Shand as she is left for dead. This is the same way Boba was at the start of the series, which can be seen as something they both have in common. From here the viewer sees him take her to a robotic doctor so she can be saved by means of implants. In his mind, he knows she is a dangerous woman who can prove to be useful in his quest to retrieve his ship.
Additionally, Boba has a serious conversation with Fennec as they talk about how his time with the Tusken Raiders has changed him. This is where the viewer sees how much Boba is in pain with the loss he suffered. This is due to the fact that Boba reveals that he was ready to stop bounty hunting altogether and live peacefully with the Raiders. Now he must keep moving forward knowing that can never happen as he will bring death to those; he gets close to. This same sentiment is also shared by Fennec who reminds him that people like them don’t get to stop willingly. In her mind, she knows this sad truth as it is implied, she once tried to stop as well but suffered a similar loss. It can be said that they both share more similarities than differences when it comes to living the life of a bounty hunter.
At the end of the episode, the viewer sees Boba and Fennec infiltrate the palace as they successfully retrieve Boba’s ship and Fennec decides to join Boba in his adventure which leads to the end of the flash backs. This is a result of the viewer being caught up to where the present is in the series. After the flash ends Boba is now having a meeting with the other lords of crime to deal with the spice traders. From the look on Fennec’s face the viewer can tell that she does not approve of his methods of getting them to agree to his terms as she would rather use fear and force. This is due to his methods being considered weak in her eyes as he would rather talk than threaten them. In her mind, fear and force is what works with these types of people, especially when they are all criminals. Luckily, Boba doesn’t have to do much except show that he has a rancor to get them to agree to his terms. As a result of this Fennec seems to be more pleased with this type of display of power as this shows that Boba sometimes will use fear if necessary.
