‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Season 1 Episode 3 “Chapter 3”

Disney Plus’s original series ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ season one episode three entitled “Chapter 3” starts with Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett as he gets the rundown of how the rest of his territory is split by the criminal underworld. From here the viewer hears about no one really fears Boba as a crime lord due to his lack of force. In Boba’s mind, he knows that everyone is too used to how things were done with criminals doing whatever they want. However, he wants to show that not everyone is completely cruel even when they are a crime lord. Which is why he tries to help one of his subjects with an issue in exchange for more money being brought to him. This demonstrates how different he is by trying to be more connected with people.

Additionally, the viewer sees that the issue his subject was having involves a group of troublemakers stealing from him. Normally any crime lord would kill them and not feel any sort of remorse for doing that. However, Boba sees that they are simply fighting back due to the subject overpricing the product he sells to the people of the city. Upon seeing this as the reason why they keep stealing his product he then offers them a job as his information gatherers. In his mind, he sees that the troublemakers are good kids with good hearts that care about the people. Also, he sees that they are in need of a second chance to do something with their lives other than just be troublemakers. Which is the same chance he was given by the Tusken Raiders when he first gained their attention.

Later into the episode, Boba gets another flash back to his time with the Tusken Raider. The viewer sees how he is negotiating with a crime syndicate over being the better choice in protection against a local spice smuggler outfit. Unfortunately, as he returns, he finds that the Tusken Raiders were all killed by the very same spice smuggler outfit. By the look on his face the viewer can tell that Bob is in great pain. This is due to him losing the closest thing he had to family leaving him alone in the world just like the death of his father did. The interesting part about this is how the Tusken Raiders appear to have a ritual in which they honor the dead. This is shown by how Boba plies up their bodies and burns them with their staff weapons. This further adds more to the lore of Star War as no one has seen this act in any past media.

At the end of the episode, Boba gets attacked by a Wookie bounty hunter on the order of the Hutt family. This is due to them wanting to take back the territory that Boba took as it originally belonged to Larry Ward’s Jabba the Hutt. Luckily, he was able to defeat him with help from his employees leading to a confrontation with the Hutts. The strangest thing happens as they apologize for trying to kill him hinting that they have something else planned for Boba. This is heavily supported by how the very same spice smugglers that killed the Tusken Raiders arrive on Boba’s planet ready for war.
