Disney Plus’s original series ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ season one episode one, entitled “Stranger In A Strange Land” starts with a look at Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett as he has a flash back to a time where he was trying to get out of a dangerous situation due to his run in with his nemesis Harrison Ford’s Han Solo. From what the viewer can see Boba struggles extremely hard to make his way out to safety. Unfortunately, as he succeeds, he finds himself passing out from exhaustion as a result of him using all of his energy to escape his situation. From here the viewer sees a couple of jawas as they rob Boba of all of his gear, which he currently has including his iconic armor. This can be seen as a way to demonstrate the change he will go through as the series progresses over time with his amor being his past and how he must learn how to survive with it and start over. The interesting part about this is how he soon recused from certain death by starvation and dehydration by a band of tusken raiders. Usually, the viewer sees them killing what ever gets in their way or just for fun during other series or movies It can be said that it is a pleasant change of pace when it comes to them. This gives the raiders a more humanistic appearance instead of just mindless killing machines.
Later into the Episode, the viewer sees Boba as he is now walking the streets along with his friend Ming Wen’s Fennec Shand, they go over how Boba should ruler his new criminal empire. It would seem that he wants to rule as a nice guy instead of being ruthless much to Fennec’s dismay and shock. In his mind, it would be better to get to know the people he is ruling that way there is an easier way to solve things. However, everyone is not taking his rule seriously as the people are all used to being treated harshly to be shown who is in charge. Which is why Fennec highly suggests that they use force as a demonstration of his hold on power. In her mind, she thinks that the only thing people in the area respect is power. Unfortunately, for her the only way to get respect is by showing them who is the boss in the area by means of force. Which is why when they get ambushed, she kills two of the three assassins to show that they are not to be messed with.
At the end of the episode, the viewer is once again shown a flash back at what happened during Boba’s time with the Raiders. The series takes a turn in a humorous way when a child raider takes Boba and another prisoner out to get some water resources. It is humorous due to the fact that a small child is his keeper for the time that he is gathering the resources. When in fact he is much taller than the child and could easily overpower him if he wanted to. However, Boba is too weak to even try to attack the child as well as fight off anyone who tries to help the child. Eventually, this leads to a fight with a giant sand monster that nearly kills the child until Boba steps in to kill it. This shows just how different Boba has become as a result of his time with the raiders. Luckily, for him due to his heroic act he is granted a small amount of trust with the older raider as he offers Boba some water as thanks for helping the child. This demonstrates just how different the series will be going into later episodes.
