Previously on the Disney+ series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Peter Parker (Hudson Thames) partnered up with Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), who wants to help Peter advance with his suit and fighting abilities. Meanwhile, Lonnie Lincoln (Eugene Byrd) traded his little brother Andre, for himself in the 110th St gang, led by Big Ben Donovan (Leilani Barrett).
The episode begins with Peter presenting the progress of his project with Dr. Carla Connors (Zehra Fazal) at Oscorp. After failing miserably on his presentation, he gets sent to Norman’s office again. As he’s walking to the office, he runs into Norman’s son, Harry (Zeno Robinson). Harry tells Peter he’s meant to be at Oscorp and hopes he runs into him again.
Peter’s now in Norman’s office; the two of them watching news coverage of the Sokovia Accords. The Avengers have “scattered,” with Captain American and Bucky Barnes on the run. People with superpower abilities must have special documentation or get fined or imprisoned. After the video, Norman shows Peter his secret team’s project on a few new suits.
Next, we see Peter in his first new suit. Although it has cool and improved technology, it doesn’t fit the Spider-Man vibe, which is what Norman was going for, mentioning that the suits he created are to keep people from figuring out who he is. He stops two people from stealing a woman’s purse. Before he can get to them, his cape gets stuck, which prevents him from moving. The woman takes a picture and posts it online.
At school, Lonnie holds a rose outside, watching Pearl Pangan (Cathy Ang) exit the building. He thanks her for taking him home the other day. She assures him that if he needs to talk to someone, she’s there for him.
At the 110th’s hideout, Lonnie is doing his homework, while everyone else is talking and playing cards. Big Ben calls Lonnie out, saying he doesn’t respect him. Ben grabs Lonnie’s notebook and throws it on the ground. As Lonnie goes to pick it up, he mutters something. Big Ben orders Lonnie to go get his food from La Fresca’s, which turns out to be a set-up. A gang is there, called the Scorpions, and warns Lonnie that they’ll be seeing Big Ben soon.
Peter and Norman struggle to pick a good suit, as the next one malfunctions. He tries a fly-like suit, which he struggles to be comfortable in, and a black suit that makes a little girl cry as he helps her get her balloon back.
Peter returns to Oscorp and Norman apologizes for the suits not working out. He shows him his last creation and Peter tries it out. It’s fair to say he loves it as he fights off another robbery. But, a bad accident on the streets of NYC, causes cars to crash into each other, starting a n fire. The cops chase the robbers, while Spider-Man helps save the victims.
Peter’s excited as he enters Norman’s office, not realizing that Norman is motioning a “not now” signal to him, as he rambles on about how cool the suit is. He then realizes that Harry is in the office, shocked at the fact that he’s Spider-Man.
During the police chase, one of the robbers, escapes their van with the stolen goods, while the other members are arrested. She watches the news on her phone, before knocking on a garage door in a hidden alleyway. As the door opens, it reveals Doctor Otto Octavius (Hugh Dancy).
Overall, this episode was entertaining, showing a different side of Lonnie, as he hides that he’s part of the 110th gang. It’s exciting to see Norman and Peter finally getting the suit that’s perfect for him. We finally get to see Doctor Otto Octavius in the series. The only question is, what will his role be exactly?
