We begin episode 6 with a casting agent filming Trevor for his Mandarin role. We then cut back to Simon and Trevor heading to the Wonder Man callback, talking about the role, and previous events.
The two arrive at Von Kovak’s house, they meet the other actors, and follow Kovak to begin their auditions. Simon is paired with Manuel and gets nervous seeing the skills of the other actors. Kovak has everyone rip up the scene, to test everyone on their humanity. Simon gets in his own head, and ends up recreating a scene from Pretty Woman, disappointing Von Kovak.

Afterwards Von Kovak gives Simon another shot with another exercise. During the exercise, Richard pisses off Simon, causing Simon to punch a hole through his head, though this turns out to be a dream. Kovak has a talk with Simon, before he heads outside to gather himself. Trevor follows him outside and tries to console him. After a pep talk, Simon gets his act together, and winds up nailing the audition with Trevor.
Kovak’s assistant brings Simon and Trevor to the entrance, where they believe they are being told to leave. Von Kovak stops them and lets Simon know that he is Wonder Man, and Trevor is Barnaby. The two drive to the apartment, happy, and grateful for each other’s support teamwork. Soon after dropping off Trevor, he is picked up by damage control and confronted about the ignored calls and lack of recording. He is then told that he is going to jail, but Trevor spills the beans about Simon’s superpowers and asks for more time to get evidence.
This episode was a huge contrast from the previous episode. While the last one was more humorous, this one was back with the main plot of trying to achieve a dream. It was both expected and unexpected, but there are no complaints here. The episode did a good job of making you feel bad for Simon for messing up his audition, because of all that he’s been through. The dream sequence of Simon punching a hole through Richard’s head was a little strange looking. At first, it’s surprising because it makes you go “holy shit.” But it was like he punched a hole in a sack, and it just looked odd. Besides that, the episode as a whole was still good, and it was nice seeing Trevor and Simon get their roles, though we’ll have to see if Trevor betrays Simon.
