Previously on Prime’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, Belly (Lola Tung) and Conrad (Christopher Briney) get to spend some time together in Cousins, shopping for the wedding. At the same time, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) is stuck at the office with their dad, Adam (Tom Everett Scott). Adam plans to pay for the wedding, a change that Belly didn’t approve of. Conrad realizes how in love he still is with Belly, and she doesn’t notice it. Steven (Sean Kaufman) and Denise (Isabella Briggs) spend quality time together on their way to New York for a convention.
The episode begins with Jeremiah and Belly waking up at Adam’s. She’s been staying there for two weeks, and Adam is having a hard time with it because she’s staying longer than planned. Jeremiah asks him if he could take time off at work so they can look at apartments.
They leave to go look at places, and the two of them are excited to have a place of their own. They find one that they want, and the realtor gives them their paperwork. Belly finds out that Jeremiah doesn’t have good credit, which will affect their chances of getting an apartment. When the realtor leaves, Jeremiah says that they should be able to find a place that doesn’t require credit score checking. They leave the place and look at other ones. They find another one that they like, and the two of them start arguing about the small things. They decide to take a break from looking, and Belly goes back to Cousins.
The next day, Belly meets with Paige (Sarah Hudson) for the wedding venue at the local country club. Belly struggles to confirm some things that will be held at the wedding, not having the support from Laurel (Jackie Chung), and Jeremiah not being there. She gets overwhelmed by the questions Paige asks her. She calls Jeremiah to tell him that she’s having second thoughts about the wedding. Jeremiah reassures her that everything will go smoothly.
Taylor (Rain Spencer) and Lucinda (Kristen Connolly) talk about Laurel and how sad Belly has been without having her mom’s support. They talk about the bridal shower tomorrow, and Taylor mentions Steven will be there, which surprises Lucinda.. Lucinda thinks he’s going for Taylor, while Taylor thinks he’s going to support his sister.
At work, Jeremiah notices that Adam and his assistant Kayleigh (Emma Ishta) might be having a secret relationship. Kayleigh is the same woman that Adam cheated on Susannah with.
Conrad meets with Laurel to talk about Belly and the wedding. He tells her that she should go. He tells her, “I think that Belly really needs her mom right now.” He also tells her that she hasn’t been eating and that she’s been upset about not having her support. He tells her that if she doesn’t go, then she’ll regret it forever.
Belly goes to Lucinda and Taylor’s for the bridal shower. Belly is surprised by her friends from Cousins and her college roommate, Anika (Sofia Bryant). As Belly sees Laurel there, she freezes. The two of them get emotional. Belly opens her gifts, and Anika gets her a photo book filled with photos of her and Jeremiah. Steven shows up late to the shower.
Jeremiah, Conrad, and Adam are shopping for suits. Afterwards, in the car, Adam tells them that he is bringing a plus one: Kayleigh. Conrad is about to say something smart about the affair, but Jeremiah motions him not to. During lunch, there’s a lot of tension between Adam and Conrad. Conrad tells them that he got fired. Surprisingly, Adam takes the news well, glad that Conrad’s focusing on himself right now.
The bridal shower is coming close to an end, and Laurel is about to leave. She gifts Belly a gift card for their honeymoon, along with a passport. Belly tells her that she’s going to come home to spend some time with Laurel. Steven is happy that the two of them have made up. Laurel and Belly get back home, and they have a movie night.
The next day, Belly goes back to Cousins. Conrad gets hurt from surfing, and Belly freaks out, helping him. While she’s cleaning the wound, the two of them almost kiss. She helps him up, and he goes to his room. Belly realizes what almost happened and feels guilty.
Overall, this was a really good episode. Between Laurel and Belly making up and Conrad and Jeremiah getting to spend some time together, there were some happy moments in this episode. It’s nice to see everyone coming together to support Belly in any way they can. But Conrad’s facing a lot of tension between his feelings toward Belly and his feelings about Adam and Kayleigh. What will happen now that the wedding is getting even closer?
