To begin, We have Travis and Ken in a Softees themed ice cream truck, handing out peppermint infused toilet paper in a cone. Ken reveals he was directed by Marv try and do some brand image rehabilitation after the Man Mitts sewer clog disaster. The kids and parents are of course not very happy about this, and throw the toilet paper at the truck, causing the duo to drive away.
Mare then explains how Ned convinced Oscar to pay for food and gas for her and Detrick, because they are going to investigate a farm three hours south of there that could be a cult. Ned isn’t sure about it, but is willing to do it because it’s a fun story for Mare to do. Detrick changes his mind about going because of a dream he had about it, so Ned winds up taking his place. Esmerelda talks about how she saw a picture of Barry when he was 30, and how he’s invading her dreams, and Oscar encounters Gomudhens10, a troll on the Toledo Truth Teller who makes fun of them for the smallest mistakes.
Marv is then seen watching the video of the Softees truck fiasco from earlier and talks to Ken about it, telling him that channel 5 has offered him to come on to the network and apologize. Esmerelda starts talking to Nicole about her Barry dreams, and Ned and Mare are heading to the cult/farm, and they do some little road chatter to pass the time. Back at the office, Oscar is still harping on the troll, and Detrick tells him he can track his IP address, which Travis doesn’t want him to do, but Adam winds up helping him further.
Ken makes Nicole pretend to be the news person and does a little practice for the questioning. While in the car talking about going over the questions, Mare gets a call from Bethany from Cleveland Today Magazine, praising her work on the Softees Man Mitts clog, and talks to her about making the story, while Ned tries to get a spider out of the car. Esmerelda continues her Barry situation back at the Truth Teller, and she tries something to get Barry out of her head, with zero success. Still on our road trip, the phone conversation between Bethany and Mare is still occurring.

After the conversation, the two are at a diner, where they talk about how the phone conversation went, and then, we see Ken still keeping up with his interview practice with Nicole. Finally, we get to see this alleged cult farm briefly, and Oscar reveals he knows who Gomudhens10 is, and that it can be traced to Suite 812, Anne Putnam’s office (Marv’s assistant). The other employees aren’t believing it, but Oscar is certain. Ned and Mare are leaving the village, where they didn’t get definitive proof of a cult.
After a squabble, they begin to head home, when the car tire pops, and we get some passive aggressive interaction. Ken and Nicole are now at the news studio, where Nicole says that she will do the interview for him. Marv is watching the video of the interview, and comments that she did great, while Oscar and the other Truth Tellers confront Anne about her trolling. Anne denies any involvement and admits that Marv has told her that she should have a password on her computer, and that anyone can sneak in there and use her computer. After the employees believe her and leave, she says something to the film crew that can implicate her.
Ned and Mare are at a restaurant, and have another little argument. Ned and Mare continue their heated discussion outside, when Ned suddenly gets a call from Detrick, who says the nominations for the Ohio Journalism Awards came in, and Mare got nominated for the best short investigative piece for the Man Mitts sewer clog story, and the whole paper is up for excellence in journalism, and they celebrate the news. The end scene involves Barry, and Esmerelda.
Overall, this episode was ok. It did have more entertainment value and overall has some more merit to it than the earlier episodes of the season. Maybe the final episode will be great, but that is definitely a hard “maybe.”
