To start the episode off, we see Ned coming in to work early and explaining why he loves it. Mare suddenly pops up from around the corner scaring him, and talks about how her plumbing in her apartment is broken, and Ned says he can use her shower. In the next story The Paper is interested in, we learn that the plumbing for Mares entire neighborhood is messed up, because there is a clog in the sewer system.
We then see back at the office a row of parents and children seated and waiting, which Esmerelda questions and makes jokes about, to which Adam explains that they’re holding commercial auditions for Kid Mitts in the conference room. Ken further explains that the Man Mitts are a successful product, and are merely expanding the brand, and looking for the perfect role for ‘Petey, the hasty wiper.” Ken then continues and talks about how he and Ned have had fights about how to bring word of the product, and we see the one they had yesterday, where Ned tells him he’s not calling the Kid Mitts the “penicillin of personal hygiene.” He also wants to separate the parent company Softees from the Toledo Truth Teller.
Esmerelda then takes her son out of school, just so he could be the next Petey. Nicole and Mare stand by the manhole to see what the clog was that was in the sewer. When it does come out, Nicole and Mare recognize it as the Man Mitts product, all bunched together. Ned and the rest of the employees are in a meeting about, where Ned brings up that they’re supposed to be flushable, and that he is now going to write a story about the parent company, to expose the lies.
Mare then goes to talk to Kimbo to see how much she knows about the lie, and she does not take it lightly. Ned calls everyone in to write the story, and Ken winds up confronting Ned about writing the Softees story and tells him he needs to stop. Ned tells him off, but Ken ends up taking Detrick, and Oscar, Adam, and Adelola, to try and empty the warehouse before the story publishes, leaving Ned, Nicole, Barry, and Mare to write it.

Ned and Mare sneak into Enervate labs (not Innovate) and talk to the scientist, asking if the Mitts are flushable. We then see the employees going through sales calls, and Ken tries to get rid of some documents, asking Travis for help. Ned tells Nicole and Mare he’s logged them into his old Softees email, and they wind up watching a bit of his old motivational sales videos. After that, we see Esmerelda’s son doing the audition, and Esmerelda kind of takes it over.
Ken tries dumping some documents, but Travis saves some, and we see some work drama between Softees and Truth Teller. Ken confronts Ned, Nicole, and Mare about them still writing about the story, and Ned is not backing down, and says he’ll resign if he takes if Ken takes the article down, and he announces to everyone he is resigning, and appointing Mare as editor in chief.
Travis flies the documents to Mare with the drone, and Mare confronts Ken about it, telling Ken he needs to let them publish the story so Ned can un-resign. Ken and Mare talk to Ned, with Ken telling him they need him to be the salesman for Softees again, and he obliges, with great success, remarketing them as kitchen wipes. While we see the sales, Mare starts asking customers of the Mitts about their experiences with them and their issues. The End scene involves Esmerelda looking at the Kid Mitts commercial.
This episode, and the episodes before, while not really increasing more in quality are definitely still better than the episodes like 1-5. It’s not the most entertaining thing in the world, but it doesn’t feel like as much of a chore to watch it (well, a little, but not nearly as much as the earlier episodes).
