Our recent installment picks up where we left off, with Lee being brought to speak with Donald. Donald tells Lee that he’s sniffing in the wrong hole, and that he doesn’t know when he’s being played. Donald asks Lee to leave his family be, and that Dale wasn’t murdered. He was manipulated by some Indian guy he met. Lee questions what the guy said to Dale, and Donald avoids the question, and tells him to go get a hot dog. Lee is then dropped off in the street to walk back to his home.
Lee enters the dark bookstore and runs into Samantha who still has a key. Samantha lets him know that she called off the wedding to Johnny, and asks if he wants to have a drink upstairs. Lee and Samantha have their chat, and Betty Jo goes to the Sunyata women’s care center. The next morning, Lee talks with Deidra about last night’s events and how Francis feels about her mother re-marrying. Lee asks Deidra to read the signature on the Dale drawing. She tells him it says Chutto, and Lee tries to ask a hypothetical about where she would go if she were an artist. After taking some offense, she tells him the Indian Store and reluctantly goes with him to investigate.

At the Indian Store, Lee and Deidra ask Mekko about Chutto, who the Indians refer to as Bucket. Mekko says they can find him at the Indian Center. At the center, Lee speaks with one of the Indians about Chutto, who has no information, but makes him play the Hand Game. After his game, Deidra tells Lee that she found out where Chutto stays. Lee visits the home and speaks with Chutto’s grandfather.
Paige visits Betty Jo at the care center and confronts her about what is going on. Dale is then brought through One Well by pastor Mark to examine the land he’s going to acquire. Mark reveals that he’s the buyer and reveals what he’s going to do with the land. Chutto walks into the house, and Lee questions him about what happened to Dale outside.
Chutto says that Dale had been watching the gay club downtown. Dale came up to him one night, and asked him to draw him, and after that, he would come back constantly, bring him coffee, or just sit and watch him work. He would also start giving him rides back to his grandpa’s home, and Dale and the grandfather became friends. Chutto tells Lee to meet him again at 7:00 am tomorrow, because his grandpa is better in the morning.
Skipping to the next morning, Chutto’s grandpa tells Lee that Dale was a nice man, and that it was a shame they had to kill him. He then says that the land Dale owned was originally his grandpa’s land. Chutto’s grandpa then gives Lee Dale’s will, where he relinquishes his share of Indian Head Hills, will be given back to Chutto and his grandpa. Frank then speaks to Trip about what to do about One Well, and explains how Mark threatened him. Lee calls Betty to tell her about Chutto and Dale’s will. After they hang up, Betty calls Frank, to tell him about the info she received.
This episode is much better than the previous episodes. Maybe not as good as the last one, but it still is a step in the right direction for this show. Overall, the show has gotten a lot better and provides a little more entertainment value than the previous episodes. As previously mentioned, while this was better than others, it may not have been as good as the last one, so hopefully the episodes don’t get bad again, but that is unlikely.
