We begin with Allen cleaning his gun, a little montage, and then to the bookstore, where Lee and Francis are heading out and heading to a duplex to rent to be safe. Next, we see Donald talking to Marty, and asking him about the reporter, that he’s looking at getting a security detail if he’s elected, and asks him a favor. Lee and Francis go to the antique mall, and calls Ray to call him out about not getting the books he was supposed to get, and Ray tells him that a woman named Catalina swooped them up first. Outside, Lee fills in Ray about the whole situation with Frank and Akron, and Donald Washberg with the skinheads and the political corruption, and explains he needs the notes in the books to solve the whole thing.

Ray, Lee and Francis go to Catalina’s to try and retrieve the books, and go to the restaurant nearby to try and devise a plan. After a wildlife enforcer walks out, Lee takes his coat, to do something. After Marty informs Betty Jo that Donals is taking over the property because of some prenuptial agreement, Lee’s plan to pretend to be a fish and wildlife officer to get Catalina’s poacher husband unfolds. Lee winds up getting knocked out, and kidnapped. After Lee doesn’t return to the restaurant, Francis puts on the hat, and heads down to the docks to investigate, and she’s confronted by Catalina, and she tries her luck to get the Jim Tompson books. Lee is then brought to a poacher’s den, and where we meet Marlon, who recognizes Lee is pretending, and they talk a little, before Lee is finally able to confirm that he isn’t Fish and Wildlife, he’s looking for books, and then he tries to escape.

After a discussion between Marty and Allen, Lee mentions Catalina to Marlon, touching a nerve since she apparently broke his heart, and tells them about his jail time, and Francis gets the Jim Thompson books from Catalina. While Lee helps Marlon write some poem for Catalina, Francis and Ray get caught by Catalina, just as Lee gets back to the docks, to find out that the books were set on fire. Francis lets him know that the books may be gone, but she managed to get the notes out of the books. 

Once again, heading in the right direction, a little more entertaining, but still not the greatest. However, the overall improvements shown in this episode give more hope, but based on what’s out so far, the show seems kind of overrated. Maybe this can be changed in the future, but that’s going to have to wait (until the next episodes come out over the following weeks).
