Episode 9 starts with Lonnie dreaming about his career ending shot, before he is awoken by Sam, who lets him know they are in Pebble Beach at the US Open. After a shroom fueled drug trip with Lance, where he talks with his younger self about his bullshit, Lonnie and Sam make their way to the area to practice some shots.

There, they run into Golden and Lance (who was brought there by Crystal after his recovery, where he will also help spread Old Henry’s ashes). After some chat, Golden lets Lance and Lonnie know that he is going to meet with Stacy later to talk business about her Teed Off hard iced tea. Golden then has a quick competition with Lonnie, which involves taking some pot shots at a picker, the people who drive around picking up golf balls.

Later on, Stacy and Golden have their business meeting, along with a guy named Mike. After they talk about some business and about Lonnie, Lance meets with Sam and Lonnie in the night while they are having food. Lonnie brings Lance to the bus to give him the golf clubs they found. Lance then says that he is trying to put all his anger toward Lonnie behind him, and that he is dealing with stupid, and serious shit. They then share a hug and talk about potentially playing together over the weekend.

Lance then heads to the bar with Crystal, where he mentions that he could be gaming him, meaning he may have been pretending to reciprocate Lonnie’s genuine feelings. Lonnie then tries to call Stacy and leaves a voicemail apologizing for messing everything up with her and Lance. We then see Fisk, Lance, and Lonnie talking to the press about facing each other and the other golfers. 

This episode was a little better than the previous episode and didn’t have any awkward parts like the other one did. The episode again didn’t feel as good as other episodes more toward the middle but was still nonetheless a decent episode. The part that could be seen as the oddest was the leopard frog at the end (Lonnie mentions in this episode that he hates hawks, and his spirit animal is a leopard frog) getting eaten and taken away by a Hawk. That or the mushroom trip scene, but they weren’t really that odd and were just unexpected, not terribly funny, but maybe a little.
