For episode 3, we start with Lonnie imagining himself rocking out, before Sam interrupts him with breakfast. She asks if he was still thinking about Henry, but he tells her he was just psyching himself up since it’s the first cut he’s made this season. After telling Sam what Lance said to him, some more psych-ups, and a quick lunch with Lance, Stacy, and Natalie, Lonnie and Sam get ready to dominate.
Lonnie however fumbles a bit during the tournament, like shooting a ball the wrong way, and even knocking a lady out with a golf ball. During his tournament, Lance tells his caddy Carl to call Lonnie to check on him to see how he’s doing. The caddy tells Lance he’s currently Six back, and Bogied the last three holes. Lance then talks with carl about how he told Lonnie it was a young man’s game and says it could have been fun to play with his dad in the tournament.
After meeting Anton Floyd of the PGA board, Lonnie and Sam talk to each other about the day. Lonnie says he wanted it too much, and beats himself up, saying it was a hot streak, and not a run. Sam and Lonnie then talk about when Lonnie started playing golf, which gives Sam an idea. She takes Lonnie to a nearby course, and they drink and practice some swings. After some easy swings and some chat, Sam tells Lonnie to hit the cutout of Golden Fisk, and Lonnie gets his sharpshooter skills on, when the cops suddenly arrive.
The next morning, Lonnie calls Lance to see how he’s doing at his tournament, and the two make a bet, one has to buy the other lunch, depending on if Lonnie makes a comeback or not. Lonnie then starts doing great once again, and Golden informs Lance that Lonnie is now four strokes up, which gets to Lance, causing him to mess up his shot.
The show as a whole does feel like it’s starting to get a bit better. Again, it’s not incredible, but it’s still alright. This episode is definitely a little better than the first one, and this one and the last one are about the same, with this one maybe being slightly better. We’ll see if the show continues to improve in the next coming episodes.
