Episode 2 begins with the funeral of Old Henry, before it transitions to Sam and Lonnie at the golf tournament. While Lonnie continues his swing against Clint, he gets a call from Lance about his lack of attendance for the funeral. Lonnie says he will text him something to read on his behalf and hangs up.
Lance then reads the message to everyone at the funeral, which goes over well. This of course aggravates Lance, who eventually wanders off and talks to Henry’s daughter Krystal. After the two reminisce about times, we see Lonnie informing Sam that he has to make the cut in order to be able to play, and he has to win three Korn Ferry tours before he can get to the PGA. They then stand and watch the TV to see if Lonnie made the cut.
After the funeral concludes, and Natalie and Lance begin the drive home, Natalie speaks with Lance about Krystal, Henry, and Lonnie. Lance is pissed because he came in the middle of a PGA tournament, while Lonnie is doing a Korn Ferry and can’t make it. Natalie tries to tell him people process grief in different ways, but Lance gets pissed off and gets pulled over for speeding.
Lonnie and Sam pull up to the funeral way after it has concluded and talks with Stacy. Stacy calls him a piece of shit because of his absence and lack of care, all for golf. Lonnie tells her he is playing well, and can feel it, but Stacy tells him there’s no way in hell he will make it back to PGA. Lonnie tells her he does care, and even offers her dinner to calm things down, but she doesn’t go for it and drives off. Lonnie then gets his chance to see Henry before he’s put away. After saying his final goodbyes, Lonnie gets the message that he made the cut.
This episode was again not bad. It was a little better than the first but again, it was alright. There were some moments that were kind of funny. For example, during the final goodbye, Lonnie gives Henry back the watch that he stole in the first episode. Lonnie learns that they were going to cremate Henry, so Lonnie steals the watch back from Henry. So once again, the show still isn’t amazing, not bad, just alright.
