Review: ‘The Boroughs’ Season 1, Episode 5 “Another Beautiful Day”

Episode 5 starts with Sam, Wally, and Judy going through the tunnel. They discover a bunch of openings, with the addresses of all the residents above them, and find the monster’s blood trail, leading toward the desert. Blaine gets a call from Hank, telling him about the situation with Paz, and even trying to beg for a raise. Blaine says to do what he thinks he should and hangs up.

Hank then drinks some mysterious fluid and finds out about Paz’s relationship with Renee, and their discoveries, so he goes to Renee’s house and knocks her out. Blaine then meets with Claire to talk about Sam, and how he broke into the mortuary, and his story about monsters. Blaine then tells her a story about one of the patients, basically trying to convince her to put Sam in the Manor.

We then see Paz and Renee in the trunk of Renee’s car heading to the desert. After arriving, Hank gets out and puts a hose through the back lights to gas the two of them.

Back in the tunnels, Sam, Judy, and Wally catch up to the creature, which is now laying in agony on the floor. Judy then shoots it, much to the dismay of Wally, who wanted to save and study it. Sam then realizes the creature has a scar, which doesn’t match the creature who killed Jack.

Art heads back to the desert to try and find another fruit, (since he consumed all of his, leaving just the pit) and finds the tree dying. After some conversation with Annaleise, who followed him, she takes the pit and consumes it. After some vomiting, she starts turning right in front of him, causing Art to run. Sam, Wally, and Judy then run into Art being attacked by Annaleise and save him.

Art, Sam, Wally, and Judy then pick up Paz and Renee on the side of the road, after they managed to escaped Hank. At a diner, Sam and the gang then talk about the events, when Paz mentions the monsters that were being kept downstairs. They figure out that whatever is in the peach is in the monster’s blood, so Blaine and the others are drinking monster blood. Judy then goes outside to talk with Art, where he reveals his knowledge of Jack. Suddenly, vans begin pulling up just as everyone else heads outside.

Ok, now it seems like Hank might have been healed using the fruit/blood. It also helps people stay young forever, as long as you drink it. Since Anneliese turned after eating the pit of the fruit (likely because there wasn’t enough of the fruit left), does that mean they have to keep drinking the blood or fruit or else they could turn? The show does a good job of making you theorize and guess about what could be going on. It’s a pretty good, intriguing show.

I have taken part in the university television station where I was able to act in a show and work behind the scenes. I also have hosted a radio show and have been able to learn the mechanical workings on how the radio shows operate. I have always been interested in different video games growing up and have recently become more interested in movies, film, radio, and screenplay. I have created many characters and have many ideas for different movies, video games, and shows. Besides creating the characters and stories, I believe I would also like to take part in them as well.
