Episode 3 introduces us to a new character, Martin, Nile’s Father. Rick, Nile’s uncle, then pays a visit and talks to him about Nile. We then see Nile being interviewed by Aggie about his life. Nile then meets with Martin, who confronts him about the book, before being interrupted by Councilman Phineas to talk about Jarvis Yards.
Aggie meets with Brian Abbott and receives the Teddy Fenig case file. We learn that Fenig was last seen at Roberto’s at 9:50 p.m., and never showed up at his girlfriend’s. Brian tells Aggie that there doesn’t seem to be anything that suggests it wasn’t suicide, but she is unconvinced. Aggie shows Brian the recordings from the Nile interview, where he mentions his ring that tracks everything, even geolocation. As they are discussing other avenues to investigate, Nile calls Aggie and tells her to meet him at Jarvis Yards in 30 minutes.
Nile confronts Aggie about talking to someone in the FBI, and she confesses. Nile tells her he doesn’t want to do the book anymore, but she manages to convince him to continue with it, and even gets an invite to his younger brother’s party to talk to his father.
Aggie arrives at the party and gets shown around by Nile, while Brian sneaks into Nile’s house for intel. Phineas, Martin, and Nile talk about their business, where Phineas reveals that Benitez made him flip his vote. Martin and Nile are pissed at this because they were funding Phineas’ campaign for 10 years, who, in turn, was supposed to be supporting Jarvis Yards. While Nina is talking to Aggie, Nile aggravatedly tells Nina they have to leave. Brian tries to leave the premises hurriedly as they get home, and gets snagged by the dogs, barely escaping with enough time.
This episode was, again, another decent one. It wasn’t anything that was too crazy. There is a new conflict going on between Jarvis Yards and the political parties. Maybe that could have been explored just a bit more. Not the whole episode, of course, because that wasn’t the main focus, but maybe a little more detail about it. There might have been a thing or two with the camera/editing, but it wasn’t something that would take away from the entire episode. Overall, though, the episode wasn’t bad and brings some interest as to what may happen next.
