Like the last review, due to the number of spoilers, this will be a shorter review. This final, decisive episode opens up with Tom and Aleah looking at the reports of a complaint from one of their Task team members. Meanwhile, two Dark Hearts members talk about cutting all ties with anyone who could link them to the disastrous events that have unfolded. And Tom, Emily, and Sara try to figure out what they need to care for Sam until someone can take custody of him.

Tom and Aleah examine Cliff’s car that went off the road, while Jayson questions Perry on what the plan is. And then, Maeve is seen talking to her co-worker about what to do with the money that Robbie left for her. The friend tells her to hide it, and if no one comes looking for it, make a new life with the kids.

Kathleen, Tom, and Aleah discuss how Ray’s phone was switched on the night they were supposed to get Cliff, and they can’t prove who it was without access to the evidence locker. After a scene of betrayal and heartbreak, we get back to Emily and Sara helping Sam decorate his room while Tom and Aleah talk about having Sam in custody. Kathleen walks back into the car and acquires Ray’s burner phone. They attempt to use it, but it turns out to be blank; it was simply a plant. Kathleen convinces someone at the FBI to give them the info from the phone, and they find the last ping/location.

We return to Tom at his home, once again talking to Emily about the victim impact statement for Ethan. Next, we see them head up to the courthouse the next morning. It’s sad when you think about how this is the first time in months that Tom or Sarah has seen their son/brother. This scene tells us exactly why Ethan snapped, and we also see more resolution with Tom and Maeve in the final bits of the episode.

Overall, this episode was like the previous one, starting with rising action before coming to rest with a well-deserved resolution. The ending was not a big celebration and was slightly anticlimactic, but it was a steady and well-deserved conclusion. Overall, the show started off a little slow, but it picked up as the episodes went, and culminated into a worthwhile watch. It also leaves the opportunity for a possible second season, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
