Previously on the AMC series Talamasca: The Secret Order, Guy continues to work with Jasper on taking down the Talamasca. Jasper makes him go on a mission to look for the 752, which was located inside a hotel. Guy has no luck finding it, and Jasper uses his vampire Checkers for backup when they learn Guy is in danger. Doris finds herself trying to help Guy, not trusting Jasper or Talamasca.
The episode begins with a flashback of Helen leaving with a man as a little girl. She asks him why they wouldn’t bring her sister along, but he doesn’t answer her. He tells her that where they’re going, she’ll be doing something very important.
Doris, still in the trunk of the van, arrives in a parking garage with Jasper, Guy, and Checkers. Once exiting the van, Jasper punches Guy. He knows that Guy has been trying to read his mind, and he doesn’t like it. Guy tells him, “I don’t wanna die.” Jasper tells him that he’s not going to before dragging him to the basement. Doris sneaks inside, using a fire extinguisher and a flare to set Jasper on fire. Doris and Guy both escape before Jasper’s vampires can attack them. Doris tells Guy that they need to leave the country, and he agrees.
Owen gives Jasper an update on Doris and Guy’s location, but they haven’t found anything. Owen is uncomfortable looking at Jasper —his skin is all burnt up, unrecognizable.
Guy gives Helen a sign to meet with him at a secret location, —the Cupid’s Arrow. He tells her that he’s in danger and he needs her help. He promises her he’ll help her find whatever she needs. She has Guy and Doris hide out in a Talamasca safehouse for the time being, until they can leave for America. Guy tells Doris about his mother, saying that she was an agent for the secret order.
The next day, Jasper is slowly healing, starting to look more like himself, with the help of Owens’ blood. Olive is secretly working for Jasper, having found Guy. But Guy isn’t at the houseboat where Doris’s coven is. Jasper’s vampire kills all of the witches, while Olive watches from afar. The detectives finally get the encrypted code from the flash drive, and it’s a file on Olive.
Overall, this was an intriguing episode. The best scene of this episode was the ending, where we find out that Olive was the mole. Maisie Richardson-Sellers has done a great job as Olive in this episode, with the suspense and the shocking reveal at the end. The SFX used for Jasper’s burnt skin was very well done; it looked very realistic. What will happen now? Will Helen successfully help Guy in the season finale?
