Previously on AMC’s Talamasca: The Secret Order, Guy Anatole (Nicholas Denton) travels to London. Helen (Elizabeth McGovern) tasks him with finding information on the vampire Jasper (William Fichtner) and London’s Talamasca Mother House. He meets a girl, Keves (Amelia Clarkson), who kills herself in her apartment after he finds his target, Archie, arguing with her. Guy finds Archie dead in the room as well.
The episode begins with a library set on fire, and everything is destroyed. Meanwhile, the police and investigation crew are cleaning up the crime scene in Keves’ apartment. Guy is doing his daily job, handing out flyers for the adult shop. He notices an ‘X’ on the phone booth, so he goes back to the park, finds the phone, and receives the message of his next location, only to see that Helen and Keves’ friend, Olive (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), is there.
Helen tells Guy that Keves was a witch; there was no connection between her and Talamasca. She tells him that it was just a coincidence that the two of them met. Helen tells him that the 752 has gone missing. The books, files, and paperwork from the library at the beginning of the episode are all in one system, the 752. Guy thinks back to a book Keves had in her backpack, which could be the 752 that they’re looking for.
After talking with Helen, Guy goes to Keves’ apartment searching for the book. But, he doesn’t find it. While leaving the apartment, he notices Keves’ Coven hangout spot and goes to pay his respects. As he’s walking back home, he gets stopped by Keves’ friend, Doris (Celine Buckens). Doris tells him that Keves told her about him. He tries to read her mind, but she blocks him. She knows that he’s part of Talamasca. He asks her about the book, but she doesn’t know about it. She warns him that the Talamasca aren’t to be trusted, bringing up what happened to Soledad in the first episode; Jasper and his crew attacked her.
Later, Jasper captures Checkers (Will Benton), holding him hostage, and turns him into a vampire.

Helen visits her old Talamasca facility, where she lived as a child and was tested for her abilities. She’s surprised to find Guy has followed her there. He demands she tell him the truth about his missions. She tells him that Jasper has infiltrated the London Mother House. That’s why she’s added Guy into the mix. She tells him that because of what happened to Keves, Archie, and the library, he now needs to work faster.
An investigator finds that Guy is all over the footage from the night of the incident. So, she presumes that he’s guilty of murdering Keves and Archie. She goes to the coven and talks to Doris, asking if she knows Guy. Doris lies and tells her no.
Guy goes to the Talamasca Mother House, and someone’s watching him from afar: Doris. He tells Owens that he needs to speak with Jasper. Jasper comes in, freezing time, so that he can speak with Guy alone. Guy tells him who he is and what he’s doing there. He tells Jasper that he doesn’t trust the Talamasca and needs real answers. He brings up the 752, and Jasper says he knows who took it and admits to killing Archie. But Guy underestimates Jasper, as he keeps him from leaving the premises.
Overall, this was a good episode. between the drama with Guy and Helen, and Guy officially meeting Jasper, it was a bit tense. It’s relieving to know why Archie tried to get Guy to take the book in the previous episode, because it’s the 752. Nicholas Denton has been doing a great job as Guy Anatole, standing his ground and being smart about what he says. What will happen now that Jasper wants to work with Guy? Why is Guy’s mother important to Helen? Is she her sister?
