Episode 2 Turk and JD talking about his “First Day” before we see JD with the interns again to see some patients. After getting in trouble with the “feelings police” lady, JD talks about how he isn’t going to let down Dr. Cox. He is then interrupted by Dr Parks, who tells him that he certainly will, pointing out how he hasn’t worked in a hospital for 15 years.
After trying to teach the interns, Elliot and JD discuss the outdated mannequins used for simulations at the hospital. Elliot suggests they need to invest in more advanced equipment, and JD agrees. JD lets Asher contact a patients insurance company to help a patient named Stanley with his expensive medicine, then runs into some charge nurses, who let him know they’ve heard of him. There is apparently gossip that he cheated on Elliot with a mistress.

JD confronts Elliot, who denies saying anything. JD then returns to his office, where Dr. Parks is waiting to see the drama unfold. He sent a text to Turk that says the board is freezing his funding for a robot because JD approved the sim lab for Elliot. Then the “feelings police” lady (Sibby) comes in with Asher, angry that Asher lost his temper with the insurance worker. After learning the sim lab will cost money while the robot will earn money, JD approves Turk’s’ wish and tells Asher to focus on his patient load and discharge Stanley. Turk then has a talk with Elliot about their friendship, and JD has a talk with Asher about helping patients.
Still annoying. It’s something about the sound effects they use. It’s like it’s trying to be some weird TikTok or YouTube skit or something. Not saying a show can’t have sound effects, it’s just the way this show does it that makes it aggravating. Not only that, but the stupid, constant daydreaming things that JD does get annoying quick. This time he was imagining some James Bond-like thing, especially after he talked with Asher, and the stupid James Bond-esque scene with JD throwing a hat chopping off Ashers’ head because he said he was being the villain or something. They could have just left it with the chat ending or something like that but no, of course not. It was jarring, and not needed Sure, there might be some lesson at the end with ok dialogue, but the other stuff kind of overrides it, and like previously mentioned, a moment does not equate to the episode being good.
