Episode 1 starts with JD and other doctors saving a patient from a gunshot wound, while JD monologues. We then learn he was just daydreaming and is currently a concierge doctor. JD heads back to the hospital and reunites with Turk, Carla, Elliot and catches up with them a bit.
When JD tries to take care of a patient, he has little spat with Dr. Parks, before he catches up with Dr. Cox. Dr. Cox tells him that he has to teach intern doctors, and watch his mouth around them. While JD is talking to the patient about hopefully getting her out of there today, Dr. Cox comes in with some of the interns and tells JD to babysit them.

After some teaching, JD learns that Turk is considered a bummer by his interns, and finds out that the patient he was looking at was okay to go home. With Turk by his side, he tries to rub it in Dr Parks and Dr Cox’s face. The next morning, JD learns that Turk hung out with somebody called The Todd.
JD then is able to teach the intern Sam how to place a central line and attempts to tell another intern to be nicer after the procedure. Dr. Cox then tells JD that he wants him to come back, before Dashana asks JD to come with her to see Turk. Dashana speaks her mind to Turk, and he lets her stay so she can close. After seeing a patient die from a heart attack, JD makes up his mind, and tells Dr. Cox that he’ll take the job, which turns out to be the Chief of Medicine.
This show is so goddamn stupid and ridiculous already, and not even in a good way. It was for some reason aggravating. There were parts in there that would make you cringe, like the girl Elliot talking about liking one of the doctors and saying he thought her burp was cute. Then the “feelings police” parts with JD were so dumb and unfunny. Turk falling over from trying to give JD a piggyback was the only palpable thing, and even then, it only warranted a little smile. This also doesn’t make the episode good. One small moment does not mean an episode is good, and the same thing goes for a show as a whole. The original show itself wasn’t good, but the reboot could have potentially given another chance for it to at least have something. Nope, so far, it is not looking so good for this reboot, and doesn’t give much hope, nor excitement or interest for the coming episodes. It honestly brings more dread than anything.
