Hazbin Hotel’s season two finale is somewhat predictable, but still manages to be an entertaining close to the chapter. Charlie and Heaven propose a Hail Mary to diffuse Vox’s surmounting attack as he becomes the most powerful sinner in Hell.
The plan is set to sabotage Vox’s pre-celebratory victory party. While Charlie and Vaggi accept his invitation, the rest of the team — Niffty, Baxter, Cherry, and Husk — have been tasked to hack the mainframe and rescue Angel Dust. Once they can control the live broadcast, they will stream Pentious from Heaven to showcase that redemption is real.
Each part of the plan falls into place, with Husk and Cherry reaching Angel, and Baxter making quick work of Vox’s telecast. However, just as Charlie prepares to introduce Pentious to the sinners below, the plans are foiled. Despite their hate for Vox, the other two Vees catch Charlie’s scheme. Bax and Niffty must fight off Velvette while Valentino battles Husk and Cherry.

Even with their best efforts, the Hazbin Hotel team fails. Vox forces Charlie to admit he’s the most powerful sinner in Hell, which goes directly to his head. So much so that he does not realize this maneuver set Alastor free from bondage. The two adversaries fight to the death, with Vox using his weapon indiscriminately, destroying Pentagram City in the process. Charlie and Emily do their best to protect the citizens.
Soon, the cannon overheats, threatening to explode, taking everyone with it. Determined to prevent more carnage, Emily and Charlie use hope to subdue the weapon. One by one, all of the sinners join in the effort, even Val and Velvette. With the cannon destroyed, Pentious activates his livestream from Heaven, proving redemption is, in fact, real.
Charlie and Emily celebrate the victory as a new step for Hell and Heaven’s relationship, allowing the sinners the option to be redeemed. Sadly, one unfortunate soul can’t forgive himself. Angel Dust opts to return to work for Valentino, realizing the harm he caused his friends.
In the end, the hotel finds success again, with Charlie electing Vaggi as the manager. And Heaven prepares Pentious as the greeter for newly redeemed souls. The episode closes with Charlie relaying her success in a voicemail to her mother, Lilith. Expecting not to hear back, Charlie is stunned when her phone rings.

While there was no doubt that Charlie and the team would be successful, the episode remained an exciting feat to close the season. The writing is most impressive, as each character remained consistent with their nature in certain situations. It was great to see Abel, played awesomely by Patrick Stump, finally step into his father’s shoes. And as much as it pains to see Angel Dust doubt himself, his journey feels real and elevates the animated characters to feel more whole.
Overall: 8/10
