We start off our future adventure with Leela and Fry watching a bit of Hypno Toad. Bender says them being cuddly makes him sick. Fry and Leela have different reasons why they love each other, and Bender winds up bringing them to a club. Bender, Fry, and Leela wind up in the bar in robot hell, where Fry and Leela are still in disagreement on why they are perfect for each other, and Bender tries his luck with the celebrity robot BarBot.
Bar Bot has a hard time seeing Bender, and at that moment, Bender realizes that he is actually short. After the other planet express members try to console him, he heeds Amy’s advice, and tries to dress tall, with no success. Bender eventually makes a bargain with the Robot Devil, who winds up giving d-roids (digital steroids). Bender winds up taking the pill, and he expectedly grows to a tall height, much to his happiness.
We then get a quick montage of tall Bender joy. While at the movies with a date, Bender winds up encountering Bar Bot, and gets into a fight. Bender and Bar Bot end up hitting it off, and while Leela and Fry are still in their little opposite/same love fight thing, Bender brings Bar Bot to the Planet Express, and she reveals she’s starring in the new Godzebo movie. At the set, Bar Bot falls in love with the Godzebo guy because of his height, much to Bender’s jealousy, and they wind up fighting. After Bar Bot falls in love with a tennis ball on a string (of all things) Bender takes the rest of the d-roids and grows to monstrous size, and winds up terrorizing New New York City.

Professor Farnsworth says there’s only two options, one involving dropping a doomsday device to awaken Godzuka to defeat Bender. The other involves manually controlling Bender from the inside, since he’s lost coordination from the d-roids. Fry and Leela go inside Bender, and Godzuka awakens from the device. Fry and Leela take control of Bender to fight Goduka, and eventually they learn to fight as one, instead of two separate people. With Godzuka defeated, and Bender shrinking to normal size, he learns that while he lacks in his size, he more than makes up for in it with his over-confidence.
This was a decent starting episode, nothing groundbreaking, but it had some good moments in it. There were definitely some nostalgia plays in here, especially with cameos like Hedonismbot, and a visual cameo from Don Bot. Overall though, it was a little fun episode, that brings some excitement to see what the rest of the season has in store.
