Percy and Chantal are in their motel room trying to get themselves together. Chantal is trying to sleep while Percy is writing. Percy feels that she can’t really focus, so she decides to go to the tavern. She sneaks in, and finds Sam is there. They have a beer together and catch up. Sam tells her about his residency and his relationship with Taylor. Percy has a memory from Summer 2012 where they talk about their friendship bracelets she made them.
Back at the motel, Chantal can tell Percy isn’t happy with not getting closure with Sam. She decides to go out to get her mind off things while Chantal goes to the lobby to get some work done.
Percy runs into her old friend, Delilah, who is getting things together for the memorial. She puts on a fake attitude for Percy, and tasks her with the most tedious tasks for Sue’s service. This includes picking up ice and finding an old photo album. When Percy leaves, Delilah tells Charlie that she finds it weird that Percy is back all of a sudden. Sam sees Percy walking down the road with two big ice bags and offers her a lift to the tavern. While in the truck, Percy has another series of flashbacks.

Percy lets Sam read her short stories. He is very impressed with her writing and knows that she’s going to win a competition submitted through her school. They decide to go to the lake where we meet young Delilah. She treats Percy poorly and forces Percy to admit her crush on Sam, only because she has a crush on Charlie.
Later, they play a game of truth or dare; and feelings arise, but Percy manages to contain herself. Suddenly, Percy doesn’t feel well. She goes to the bathroom and realizes she’s gotten her period for the first time. Sue sees that she’s visibly upset and comforts her while she teaches her how to use menstrual products. While Percy is thankful, she breaks down and tells Sue that it feels like the world around her is changing.
Back at the tavern, Delilah and Charlie kiss, but keep it from everyone as Delilah is in a relationship. Percy and Sam get to the tavern to drop off the ice. Delilah coldly tells Percy to go get the photo album. Percy obeys, and Sam can tell that something is up.

In the lobby, Chantal runs into Jordie. He watches her work and quickly tells she’s pretty stubborn. To break the ice, he offers her a tour of the town and a free ice cream cone. Chantal agrees. Chantal lightens up a bit and tells Jordie a little about herself, while Jordie shares his big dreams of getting out of the town and the injury that changed all of that. Now, he’s stuck in the town he promised he’d leave and running the family business that he promised he’d never run. He grows on Chantal.
Percy goes back to Sam and Charlie’s house where she’s greeted by Taylor. She learns that she’s a pediatrician and she and Sam met in med school. Taylor guides her to the basement where Percy finds the photo album. She calls her mom and Her mom begs Percy to leave that town as she has so much past trauma from being hurt by the three of them. As Percy sobs, there is a knock at the door. It’s Sam. Cut to black.
This episode was faster paced than the pilot and we learn a little bit more about the characters and their backstories. It was really nice to see that subplot of Jordie and Chantal as we learn why Jordie is a bit uptight, even though we still haven’t learned the entire story between Sam and Percy yet. Chantal is just being a good friend to all, which really says a lot about her character. On the other hand, antagonist Delilah has awful true colors as she has always been kind of a bully in Percy’s life. We also get to see Percy and Sam bond in their adult life which was a nice touch as Percy’s flashbacks get more intense.
