Previously on the HBO series Euphoria, Cassie deletes her OnlyFans account after getting a main role for LA Nights. After making a deal with Alamo and getting a copy of Laurie’s house key from Faye, Rue gets a good lead for the DEA. Laurie and Alamo meet and make a deal to use each other’s resources. 

The episode begins with Ali’s background, which includes his use of narcotics, arguments with his wife, and infidelity. He decides to change after undergoing surgery. In an effort to assist others, he chooses to become a sponsor after completing NA. Every sponsee he loses is recorded in a notepad. 

In the present, Alamo has Big Eddy go to Laurie’s with the medical truck so they can hide the drugs inside. Rue has a bug inside, so the DEA agents hear everything. 

When Rue visits Lexie, she shares her new religious outlook on life. She tells her the story of the Joshua tree catching fire, which she interprets as a sign from God to never give up. When she tells Lexie that she works with the DEA, Lexie doesn’t trust her and believes she’s talking crazy and has relapsed. 

A few days before, Cassie received a threatening call from Naz after receiving Nate’s finger. After an unsuccessful attempt to retrieve her OnlyFans account. She’s removed from LA Nights. In the meantime, Maddy loses her job. When she discovers that Cassie erased her account, she rushes to her house. “I should never have let you back in my life,” Maddy says. While slapping Cassie, she tells her to pay attention to what she has to say and that she is in charge. Maddy arranges a dinner for Cassie with Dylan Reid, giving TMZ a call to capture footage. After hooking up, Cassie snatches Dylan’s phone and uploads a photo of them to his Instagram account. 

Rue ends up telling Ali everything regarding Alamo, Laurie, and the DEA. Ali tells her not to go through with the plan and to inform the DEA about everything they don’t know. Ali says that she can stay at his place, and he can bring her mom there for safety. Rue can’t stay there, insisting that it’s her last run. She also tells him about the Joshua tree. She says that when everything’s finished, she’s moving to Texas. She believes that Texas is the Promised Land. Before Rue leaves, she writes Ali a note: “Forgive me.”

The DEA plans for the big execution.  Headed to Laurie’s, Rue bangs her head against a car to fake an injury, lying to Laurie that Alamo hit her. 

Naz and his guy break into Cassie’s home, knocking her unconscious. When she wakes up, she sees Naz and realizes she’s tied up.  He tells her that she has 72 hours to figure everything out, and we learn that Naz has buried Nate alive. Naz warns her that if she tells anyone about Nate, he will die. While Nate yells for help, a rattlesnake slithers inside the coffin and bites him. At night, Cassie ends up calling Maddy, and Naz tells her that she can either give him a million dollars or Cassie will face repercussions. 

Rue is outside with Laurie and her family when they begin to ask questions about why she’s there. Rue talks about how she’s been lying her whole life and that she wants to make it up to Laurie. Wayne makes a deal with her: Rue will be the one to kill Alamo when he gets there in the morning. Later, Wayne tells Faye that he’s going to make her kill Rue. 

Maddy goes to Alamo’s and tells him about Cassie’s situation, asking for his help. He coerces her into his hot tub to discuss business. Maddy slips up and mentions Rue being stressed out about the DEA, which catches Alamo’s attention. He doesn’t comment on it, though. After begging and returning a favor, Alamo decides to help her out with Cassie. They go to the Jacobs’ construction site and meet Naz. Alamo decides to stay in the car, while Maddy does the exchange. As Naz walks out of the vehicle with his right hand and Cassie, Alamo gets out of his car. Naz opens the duffel, and there’s no money. Before he can do anything, Alamo shoots him from afar and ends up killing him. Alamo forces Naz to dig Nate out. They find him dead, and both girls are heartbroken. 

At Laurie’s, Faye has a change of heart and helps  Rue get the money before everyone else wakes up. They go to the basement to the safe. The key doesn’t work, so Faye tries to quietly grab the real key from Wayne. They’re able to open the safe, but when Faye realizes there isn’t any money inside, she tells Rue to put everything back. Instead of money, Rue finds a bunch of girls’ IDs, including Angel’s. Faye grows louder as  Rue tries to get her to quiet down. Suddenly, Faye looks at Wayne and yells for him. 

Overall, this was a really good episode. Between Cassie and Nate, both being used more by Naz, and Rue being threatened by Wayne and Laurie, a lot was going on in this episode. A scene that stood out was Nate screaming for help when the snake came into the box. Jacob Elordi did such an incredible job with this scene; his cry for help, the emotion, body language, everything was well done on his end. When Maddy and Cassie both looked at him, it was very emotional. Now that Rue has been “caught,” what will happen in the finale?
