Previously on HBO Max’s Euphoria, Cassie and Maddy finally meet after five years of not speaking to each other. Maddy agrees to be Cassie’s social media manager, and Cassie extends her an invitation to the wedding. Alamo and Laurie continue to have issues, while Rue’s stuck in the middle, while forming a connection with one of Alamo’s dancers, Angel. We also learn that Jules has been seeing a married man, which complicates Rue’s seeing her.
The episode begins with Jules. We learn more about the married man she’s been seeing. While in college, she began going on dates with rich men for money. One day, she meets a plastic surgeon, Ellis. That’s when everything changed, as the two of them formed a romantic relationship. Jules makes enough money to drop out of college.
Rue works her way up at the club, now working more with clients and selling Alamo’s weaponry. As Alamo and Rue discuss the definition of “legit,” the pig from the previous episode shows up, and Alamo kills it. It’s obviously retaliation from Laurie. Alamo plots a counterattack.
It’s time for Nate and Cassie’s wedding. Rue has Jules go with her as her plus one. Nate suffers a panic attack, but shows up at the altar in time. The ceremony goes well, with no drama. However, Cassie’s mother shares her own wedding jitters and the unfortunate outcome as she walks her down the aisle. It is an eerie form of foreshadowing for what’s to come.
Immediately after the ceremony, Rue is summoned to go to Laurie’s. She finds it odd, but follows orders. On her way, she receives a call from Fez.
Cal is shocked to see Jules. During the dinner reception, the two cross paths at the bar. Jules puts together that Nate hid the disc from the cops when Cal mentions that it was nowhere to be found. However, Cal still landed up on the sex offender list.
While Nate and Cassie are eating, the shady businessman Naz comes over to the table, gripping Nate’s shoulder. He complains about not being invited to the wedding and threatens Nate for not paying him back. Both Cassie and Lexie worry, hearing the trembling in Nate’s voice. Cassie’s friend immediately relays this information to her husband because they’ve loaned Nate thousands of dollars.
As they perform their first dance, Nate and Cassie silently argue about the situation. Meanwhile, Maddy watches them sadly. Once the dance is over, she leaves. Jules goes outside to take a break, and Nate follows. The interaction is oddly calm as he thanks her for coming.
Back inside, Cassie yells at Nate about Naz, causing a scene. holding a bottle of champagne, she grips it too tightly, and the cork pops out, hitting Nate in the eye. When the wedding is over, Nate promises Cassie that he will do everything he can to fix things.

Rue meets with Alamo’s right hand, Bishop, at Laurie’s. Bishop informs Laurie and her family that Alamo wants to continue getting drugs from them, but everything should always be tested moving forward. As Rue handles a transaction, Bishop secretly puts a drug in Laurie’s bird, Paladin’s, water, and kills it.
Nate and Cassie make it home and find Naz waiting for them. Naz’s right hand shoves Cassie to the floor and beats Nate bloody. In an awkwardly comedic scene, Cassie cries as Nate is dragged throughout the foyer. She exclaims with a bloody nose that, “It was supposed to be the best day of my life.”
While headed home, Rue gets pulled over by the DEA.
Overall, this was a good episode. Between both Maddy and Jules coming as guests and Cassie learning about Nate and Naz’s money ordeal, a lot happened at the Jacobs’ wedding. Like Eric Dane said during the BTS of this episode, it was “Nice to see Cal and Jules together as adults.” There’s a lot of history between the two of them, and even though it ended with a lot of drama, it was enjoyable to see the two of them conversing together, respectfully. That scene between the two of them at the bar was a favorite. Sydney Sweeney did an incredible job as Cassie. It was also entertaining to see Cassie’s emotions throughout this episode, especially during the scene at the end in the house. Now that Rue has been pulled over by the DEA, what will happen to her?
