Previously on Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Harrison (Jack Alcott) spend more time together, as Harrison expresses wanting to go to college. At a lecture, Dexter meets Detective Claudette (Kadia Saraf). Leon (Peter Dinklage) and the remaining part of the group go to a mansion to stay under the radar. Dexter kills Gareth (David Dastmalchian), pretending it was self-defense. After Angel (David Zayas) meets Blessing (Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine) and has an awkward and tense interaction with Dexter, he places a case of AirPods in Dexter’s car to use as a tracking device.
The episode begins with Angel recording himself to confirm that Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher. He checks his AirPods, which he planted in Dexter’s car, to see where he is.
Dexter only has one last kill to make: Al (Eric Stonestreet). He sets up at a salon in preparation for the kill.
Leon prepares for his gala. Charley (Uma Thurman) doesn’t have a good feeling about Red, aka Dexter, saying that everything has been turning sideways since he was brought into the mix. Leon doesn’t agree, saying that he trusts Red.
Detective Claudette spends her time looking over Bay Harbor Butcher articles, while Angel is tracking Dexter down in the city. He notices that Dexter’s location is by some businesses, so he walks through to see if he can find him or anything suspicious. While doing so, he is recording a voice memo.
Blessing’s daughter, Joy (Reese Antoinette), gives Dexter another round of acupuncture. He accidentally tells her that Blessing was a child soldier, not realizing that Joy didn’t know. He tells her that Blessing was kidnapped and that he was forced to do things. She begins to get emotional. Before he can apologize, she storms out of his place and leaves.
Dexter and Harrison meet up for dinner. Harrison tells him about Elsa (Emilia Suárez) and her landlord. He suggests that he could talk to him, saying he could use some police “lingo” on him, to get him to listen and do what Elsa needs him to.

After dinner, Dexter goes to the theatre where Al is and waits for him to come out. He waits for a while, then decides to call him. Al tells him that he’s already left, which puts a halt to Dexter’s plans. Now that he won’t be able to kill Al, he doesn’t know what to do next.
Blessing angrily confronts Dexter about telling Joy about his childhood. Dexter apologizes. Blessing tells him, “You betrayed me.”
Later, we see Dexter waiting to meet with the landlord, Vinny. Dexter bursts into his office, and Vinny begins to yell at him. After he gets kicked out, Dexter decides that Vinny’ll be his next victim. When it gets dark out, Dexter attacks him, putting him in his trunk, and takes him to the salon. Vinny wakes up, and Dexter begins to talk to him. Angel, following the tracker, notices the lights on at the salon, so he secretly enters. Dexter hurriedly leaves, and Vinny runs into Angel, screaming. Dexter is gone before Angel can get to him. Angel looks in the salon, trying to find any evidence he can use. He calls Detective Claudette about the salon. Claudette and her partner, Melvin (Dominic Fumusa), join Angel, and he tells them everything, including that he was tracking Dexter.
Dexter realizes that Angel must’ve put a tracking device in his car, and finds the AirPods and destroys them.
The next day, Claudette calls Joey Quinn (Desmond Harrington) to ask about the Bay Harbor Butcher case. She tells him that Angel has been working on the case, which catches Joey by surprise. He informs her that Angel isn’t Captain anymore, that he retired.
Dexter and Harrison have dinner together, thanking him for talking to Vinny. Harrison tells Dexter that he thinks he has “a thing” for justice. Dexter looks at someone walking toward their table, and it’s Leon, who says, “Red, I didn’t know you had a son.”
Overall, this was a good episode. Between Angel tracking down Dexter and Al leaving New York, Dexter has made several errors in his plans. Hopefully, Blessing will be able to forgive Dexter for his mistake, since they’ve become such good friends. There’s going to be a big problem now that Leon may know that Dexter isn’t who he claims to be. Now that Claudette knows about Angel, will she think that he’s trying to frame Dexter?
