Previously on Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) finds himself at a dinner party with other serial killers hosted by Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage). Dexter also kills his second victim while in New York. Harrison (Jack Alcott) has conflicting thoughts about Dexter’s past. After being slightly threatened by Angel (David Zayas), Harrison goes to turn himself in, but Dexter stops him from doing so.
The episode begins with Dexter taking Harrison to his place. Dexter tells him that he moved to New York City to “watch over” him. Harrison is surprised that he’s alive, thinking that he’s been dead this whole time. Dexter tells him that he knows he killed Ryan, using the skills he taught him. Harrison says that he has nightmares of Ryan and that he’s paranoid and feels guilty. Dexter notices that Harrison has a traumatic response to Ryan’s watch ticking, so he takes it from him.
After Harrison leaves, Dexter meets up with Mia (Krysten Ritter), and they go bowling. She asks Dexter if he’d be interested in collaborating with her on a kill. She tells him to think about it.
Leon does a televised interview. He opens up about how he became a billionaire and shares his experiences as an orphan.
When Dexter comes back home, he goes to Blessing’s (Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine) and finds him frustrated with his mother, Prudence (Sharon Hope). Dexter learns that Prudence has cancer, but hasn’t been accepting the treatment. Dexter and Prudence share a heartfelt moment, Prudence telling him that she doesn’t want to die alone, and when she does die, she wants it to be in her home and not at the hospital.
Dexter and Mia meet up again, this time for dinner. They discuss Mia’s proposition. She would want to try it Dexter’s way, which, in her eyes, would be Red’s way. She wants to do one tonight, but Dexter is nervous. He goes outside and takes a syringe, hiding it as she meets him at his car.
The night doesn’t go as planned for Mia. Dexter feels uncomfortable and ends up not killing anyone, saying that he’s not ready to let her in on his kills. She ends up upset with him, leaves, and decides to meet with a stranger at a bar, planning to kill him.
Dexter breaks into Mia’s apartment and goes outside, watching the kill from the window when she and her victim make it to the apartment. After he watches her knock out the victim, he calls the cops, pretending to be a neighbor, and tells them he thinks he’s witnessed something bad. He watches NYPD break in and arrest her. They search her home, and they find Ryan’s watch, which was placed inside by Dexter, and they contact Claudette.

The next day, Charley tells Leon about Mia. She cannot contact her or get answers about what’s going on.
Everyone else, including Angel, Elsa (Emilia Suárez), and Harrison, finds out about Mia being found guilty of killing Ryan while watching the news.
Harrison goes over to Dexter’s and asks if it was him, and Dexter tells him the truth. He tells Harrison about Arthur Mitchell (John Lithgow) and the death of Harrison’s mom, Rita (Julie Benz). Dexter says that he needs him in his life, that he’s the closest thing to “normal” he has. Dexter tells him, “You’re my reason to live.”
Overall, this was an intriguing and somewhat nerve-wracking episode. Between Dexter and Harrison seeing each other again, to Dexter setting Mia up, a lot was going on. With how good a job Jack Alcott has done portraying Harrison, it’s entertaining to see how conflicted Harrison has been this whole time, and now with Dexter back in the picture, it’s clear to see his emotions are even more heightened. It’s nice to see that Dexter and Harrison were able to open up to each other. What will Leon do now that Mia is in jail?
