So far, this season is looking pretty good. After a mission, Daredevil finds out about one of Kingpin’s operations, and thus must put an end to it, all while Kingpin continues his agenda. It wasn’t too crazy (of course not, it is the first episode of the second season). The pacing so far in this episode seemed like it was a bit faster. Not that season 1, episode 1 was slow in a bad way, just that this one felt like it went by a bit faster. The scenes didn’t go on for as long, which was something the first season had some issues with. This is of course one episode, and we don’t know if the next episodes might have this problem, but we’ll see.
There was one part that was unexpected, involving a BB Ulrich report, though you’re just gonna have to see it. It was funny, not insanely funny, but it was definitely a silly part. The episode was basically just kind of settling in and seeing how far Kingpin has dug himself, his power, and corruption into New York. There was some action but not a huge amount. Again, this is meant to get you back into it.
This episode introduced a few characters that are going to make the show a little interesting. It brought some intrigue and some questions as to what the next episodes would do with these characters. Are they going to help, or harm? If they are, how much, and in what way? Will this character make any future appearances or is it just a one time thing?
Overall, the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 wasn’t anything too crazy, but brings some promise that the show will still be good. It introduced some characters that bring some interest as to how they may be used, and just what they might do. This episode seemed to go by a bit faster than the very first episode, and was overall a “settle in and see” episode, showing you Kingpin’s current level of control over New York, with some action and teeing of characters, whether returning, or new. So far, a pretty good start, and it brings excitement to see what the next episodes are going to bring to the table.
