Previously on the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, Heather (Margarita Levieva) gets held hostage by Muse, who we find out is Bastian Cooper (Hunter Doohan). Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) saves her as Daredevil. Heather ends up killing Muse with a gun. Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) said it wasn’t Daredevil who stopped Muse, but the anti-vigilante task force.
The episode begins with Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) looking out the window from prison. A guard grabs him and puts handcuffs on him. He is then moved to Gen Pop, which is filled with many different criminals.
Fisk tells Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) that he’s getting funding for his Red Hook project. He tells her he appreciates and has noticed everything she’s done for him and their business. He shows her his dungeon that he’s been hiding from her. Adam sees them and pleads to let him out.
Heather, experiencing some guilt from killing Muse, starts comparing Muse with Daredevil, saying they’re both bad vigilantes. Matt disagrees. Suddenly, a knock at the door reveals Buck (Arty Froushan), who asks Matt for Heather. She comes to the door, and Buck hands her an envelope from Fisk, thanking her for ending Muse.
Matt finds out that Fisk is one of Heather’s clients, and doesn’t like it. He thinks it’s dangerous. She gets invited to Fisk’s inaugural ball, but Matt believes Fisk is trying to use her. Heather needs a plus one, but Matt leaves before agreeing to go with her.
At the dungeon, Vanessa shoots Adam, killing him. Fisk tells her he cannot live without her and promises to never leave her again.
After leaving Heather, Matt goes to the office for a meeting with Kirsten (Nikki M. James). She tells him that she got a call from her friend that Bullseye was moved from protective custody to gen pop. Fisk made the call to move Bullseye. Bullseye wants to talk to Matt.
Later, Fisk names Daniel Blake (Michael Gandolfini) Deputy Mayor of Communications. Fisk tells him that he is the face of the new generation, saying that it’s a great idea to give him the promotion. Daniel is ecstatic and promises Fisk that he won’t regret it.
Matt goes to Josie’s, where Foggy was killed. Cherry (Clark Johnson) finds him there and talks to him. Matt tells him that he thinks Fisk had something to do with Bullseye and Foggy, but Cherry urges him to leave it to the professionals. Suddenly, Matt figures out Foggy celebrated early the night he died because he knew he would win his case. Someone killed him to prevent his victory. Matt quickly exits the bar.
Next, we see Matt at the prison, face-to-face with Bullseye. They get into a heated conversation, with Matt accusing Fisk of ordering Bullseye to kill Foggy. Matt slams Bullseye’s face against the table multiple times before leaving.
It’s now time for the black and white ball, hosted by Fisk. Heather is there alone, and everyone else is mingling. Vanessa and Fisk make their grand entrance, holding hands.
Bullseye is getting stitches sewn on his head, and once the doctor is done, a guard comes to put his handcuffs back on. Before he does so, Bullseye opens his bloody mouth to reveal a loose tooth. He spits the broken tooth through the guard’s eye, killing him.. Bullseye quickly kills the doctor and the other guard before escaping the room.
Bullseye makes a smart exit, disguised as a guard, and boards the transportation bus.
Vanessa walks toward Heather and tells her they won’t be needing her services anymore. Vanessa tells her that she and Fisk have worked things out.
Matt shows up at the event. Fisk notices him, and before they can talk, Heather calls him over. While Heather is trying to talk to him, he can’t help but eavesdrop on Fisk’s conversation with Jack Duquesne, aka Swordsman, from the Hawkeye series. Fisk brings up that he’s a vigilante, and Jack scoffs. Fisk warns him to leave his business alone.
BB Urich (Genneya Walton) finds Commissioner Gallo (Michael Gaston), and she asks if he knows who she is. He does and asks her if she knew that Fisk was part of her uncle’s murder, as the main suspect. She does and tells him that if he ever wants to do damage to Fisk, to contact her and she’ll help him. He suggests that he give her the files on every officer in the task force.
Matt stalks over to Fisk, with Heather right by his side. Before he can reach him, a spotlight focuses on Fisk, and he dances with Vanessa in front of the guests.
Matt grabs Heather, and he dances with her. He uses his superhearing, and Fisk asks him why he’s there. Matt whispers to Heather, saying that if anything happens, she needs to leave quickly and call Cherry.
Buck gets a call that Bullseye escaped from the prison. He tells Fisk and Vanessa. Vanessa has something to tell Fisk, as Matt puts together that she was the one who had Bullseye kill Foggy. He purposely bumps into the married couple and steals Vanessa, making Heather and Fisk dance together.
While everyone is dancing, Bullseye enters the building, pointing a sniper rifle at the crowd. Matt asks Vanessa if Fisk knows about Foggy, and she rebuttals by asking him if Heather knows he’s Daredevil. Matt tells her that she will pay for what she did.
Matt hears Bullseye’s gun click. As he shoots, Matt steps in front of Fisk, taking a bullet for him.
Overall, this was a really good episode. Seeing Swordsman in it was shocking and a good addition. Having other MCU characters in this series is fun for Marvel fans. Bullseye’s escape from prison was expected to get revenge on those who wanted him dead. Why did Matt take a bullet for Fisk? What will Bullseye’s next move be?
