The penultimate episode of Bosch: Legacy’s final season tidies up some loose ends as Bosch aims his crosshairs for Finbar McShane. Meanwhile, Reina and Maddie respond to a near-fatal call in a quiet suburb.
The episdoe finds Humberto Zorillo looking to silence his accomplice in the drug ring: Sheriff Garrity. After tricking the security system, he sneaks in through a patio door with his silencer. After hours of waiting, Garrity is a no-show. As Zorillo leaves, disappointed, Garrity watches from a neighbor’s home across the street. He enters his home only to be surprised by another house guest: Harry Bosch.
Later, Reina visits her nephew at the station. Distraught, he asks for her advice. Reina suggests he talk with his lawyer to secure a deal and serve less time. Although Reina and Albert seem to have an understanding, her sister remains upset. She’s enraged that Reina never told her about Albert’s involvement. She vows to never see or speak to Reina again.
That night, a good Samaritan’s 9-1-1 call saves a young Black man from death, as an ambulance rushes him to the hospital. He complains that a friend of his left him to die. That friend was city councilman Patrick Curry, who was seen driving away from the house minutes before. The councilman has an affinity for Black men and narcotics, as we learned in a previous episode. Luckily, Curry’s clean-up man secures information on DA Chandler that will keep the heat off his back in the future.
Bosch and his war buddy, Gurbizs, plot their plan to find and return McShane to the States alive. After paying a local for information on his exact location, McShane is taken into custody.
The episode delivers somewhat satisfying conclusions to the season’s two main narratives. But it still feels rushed. Hopefully, the Curry plotline continues in the previously announced spinoff featuring Maggie Q’s Renee Ballard.
