Review: ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 2 Episode 6 “Dos Matadores”

Episode 6 of Bosch: Legacy season 2 explores themes related to trauma, romance, and the consequences of secrets.

The A story is similar to “Hollywood Forever” as it follows Honey (Mimi Rogers) as she runs into obstacles trying to defend her client and Bosch (Titus Welliver) as he continues searching for the real murderer in an effort to proves that Honey’s client is innocent. The B story follows Mo (Stephen A. Chang) as he begins a budding romance with the woman he met in episode 5, who happens to be a podcaster that specializes in covering hackers. The C story is centered around Maddie (Madison Lintz) as she reckons with her trauma from events that took place in the first two episodes of season 2.

The C story stands out the most as it features the strongest emotional moments of the episode as Maddie must make a difficult decision related to the criminal trial of the man who kidnapped in her at beginning of the season. The B story is also notable in this episode as it gives Mo the most screen time he’s had all season. The A story delivers a satisfying amount of tension thanks to the fact that Bosch is very active as he continues his pursuit of finding the real murderer involved in the Parks criminal case.

The two notable performances of the episode come from Madison Lintz and Stephen A. Chang. In this episode it’s a bit jarring to see Mo as such an active character but his charm doesn’t disappear and makes for an entertaining storyline. Lintz also delivers a powerful emotional performance which still manages to feel subtle and grounded. It is so far her strongest performance of the season.
