The first episode of this show begins with Nicky and Morgan in a home with their grandma and mother. Their mother tells the two to go to the store in order to get a necklace for her birthday. We then learn about Nicky having to keep his boyfriend a secret since he’s a pastor, and the bit of problems with Morgan’s relationship.
After dealing with a rude clerk at the store, Nicky and Morgan bring their grandma the gift, only to discover that she had already passed away. Their mother is still happy with the gift, so she makes the siblings put the necklace on their dead grandma and say a few words. Later on, while Nicky is at home, someone knocks on the door. Nicky answers it, and the person ( the clerk) says they are there for a pickup. Nicky tells him it might be the wrong address, but the clerk tells him he’s there regarding the necklace that Morgan stole. The clerk then threatens Nicky that he better give it back or else, and leaves.
Nicky hurriedly drives to his mother’s house, pulls Morgan aside, and tells her she needs to give back the necklace, and shows her the truck that followed him there. Morgan goes outside to talk to the guy, he pulls a gun on her, and she quickly heads back to tell Nicky that they have to get the necklace back. Nicky unsuccessfully attempts to get the necklace from his grandma, and after he speaks at her funeral, the clerk makes Nicky and Morgan walk with him, telling them to give him the necklace. He gets pissed when they tell him they don’t have it, and forces them to get in the truck.
The show is off to an interesting start so far. The ending was kind of abrupt, since after the clerk told them to get in the truck, and they get in, and he closes the door, it just ends. It honestly felt like there would be maybe a bit more dialogue or something, and then the episode would end. It wasn’t a terrible ending, but was definitely a bit fast. Overall, the episode wasn’t too bad to start off on, and it had its moments, like when Nicky and Morgan had to put the necklace on their dead grandma.
