Previously on the Disney+ series, Agatha All Along, Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), Jennifer (Sasheer Zamata), and Billy (Joe Locke), finished the final trial on the Witches’ Road. Rio (Aubrey Plaza) finds out that Agatha isn’t keeping her promise to give her Billy, which results in a battle between the two women. Agatha protected Billy, sacrificing herself. She dies and Rio lets Billy go. When he leaves and goes back home to his parents, he makes the connection that he created the Witches’ Road through his mind and magic.
The finale begins in 1750. Agatha is running through the woods, groaning in pain. As she takes off her cloak, we notice she’s pregnant. The reason she’s in pain is because she’s giving birth. She feels someone with her, so as she looks around, she notices Rio. Agatha begs her to let her son live. She looks down and looks back up again, noticing Rio’s gone. After a painful moment, she gives birth to her baby boy, Nicholas Scratch.
Next, we see her in the woods with her son, a few days after the birthing. She meets a coven, and they invite her into their circle. She smiles before killing them all and taking their powers.
The time then goes to six years later. We see a little boy, who happens to be Nicholas, steal a bell from a lady. He begins to run off and they chase after him, reaching his home, where Agatha is waiting for him. He leaves his mother alone with the witches who follow after him and she kills them as well, stealing their powers.
Agatha and Nicholas leave their town and travel off. She shows him her powers. They create the Witches’ Road song together, figuring out the right lyrics to put down and they begin to sing it as flashbacks of their time together come to view.
We then see them at a pub. Nicholas is standing on a barrel and singing the song, with the citizens cheering and clapping along Agatha pretends she doesn’t know him and a lady comes up to him, asking how he came up with the song. He pretends he’s sick and she takes his hand to help him. But, before she can, he turns her down, running off. Agatha goes after him.
It’s now nighttime and Nicholas wakes up from his sleep. He sees Rio and gets up and she takes him. In the morning, Agatha awakens and notices Nicholas isn’t waking up. She begins to cry, knowing that Death has taken him. She buries him and softly sings the ballad, putting a piece of his hair in her locket. Just then a young lady startles her, asking for help to find the Road since she knows the song. Agatha tells her she will help her, but they must first find a coven.
They find themselves a coven and begin to sing the ballad. When it doesn’t work, Agatha berates them until they attack her. In return she kills them all, taking their powers. Agatha continues this con throughout time up to the present day. Only this time, a door to the road appears fooling even Agatha.
It then goes to the present time, back to hearing Agatha’s laugh in Billy’s bedroom. He turns around and freaks out as he sees her in ghost form. Billy asks her if he made the Road. Agatha mentions that the ballad was a trick and never meant anything. She tells him, “The Road wasn’t real until you made it real.”
He begins to freak out as he realizes he killed all of the witches, stating that his mind killed them. Agatha tells him that he saved a life, Jennifer’s life. She tells Billy that he needs to get used to the feeling of losing someone.
After their talk, he goes back to Agatha’s house and goes to the basement, noticing the door to The Road there. Agatha asks what he’s doing, but he ignores her, grabs a piece of chalk, and makes a Pentacle. Grabbing his notebook, Billy begins speaking Latin, with her pendant in his hand. The spell is to send her into the afterlife. Agatha’s ghost figure begins to flicker and she can’t touch him. She admits she’s scared to see Nicholas, knowing that he died because of her.
Billy stands in the middle of the pentacle. He creates a grave for the three witches who died. Once he finishes, a stairway is shown. Before they walk up the stairway Agatha says, “Let’s go find Tommy.”
Overall, this was an amazing series. It was cool to see Agatha Harkness’ character in a more in-depth way than how we saw her in WandaVision. Finding out that Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) has a son who is alive was shocking. The Road being created by Billy was also cool to find out. This show had so many mysteries and questions answered along the way. It will be interesting to see how the story continues.
