Previously on Disney+’s series Agatha All Along, viewers learned that Teen (Joe Locke) happens to be Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlett Witch’s (Elizabeth Olsen) son. After finishing their trial, which focused on Agatha (Kathryn Hahn), Teen turned on the coven, which revealed a crown on his head that resembled Wanda’s.
This week’s episode starts in the past, beginning with Teen praying in Hebrew at his bar mitzvah. We find out that his name is William Kaplan. He goes to a palm reading at his party and the palm reader happens to be one of the coven members, Lilia (Patti LuPone). She tells him he has a long journey and a life transformation coming. She puts something in his coat pocket when he leaves the tent and immediately forgets the interaction. Suddenly, everyone must leave the party and return home as something is happening to the anomaly in the neighboring town of Westview.
On his way home with his parents Rebecca (Maria Dazzia) and Jeff Kaplan (Paul Adelstein), William notices the hex getting smaller. Distracted, the family gets into a car accident, crashing into a tree. William loses a lot of blood and essentially dies. While his parents seek help he wakes up, yelling “Tommy!” Police come to the rescue and one of the officers is Alice (Ali Ahn). William doesn’t remember anything that happened before the crash. He looks at his reflection in the glass window of the ambulance and his eyes widen, as if he doesn’t remember what he looked like.
At the hospital, his parents come inside and he reads their minds. The next day, they go home. Their dog begins to freak out, barking at William. He reads their minds again and gets stressed, yelling at them to stop worrying about him. He goes to his bedroom and looks at himself in the mirror. He begins to say his name like he’s convincing himself of who he is.
Next, we see that it’s now three years later. He’s hanging out with his boyfriend, Eddie (Miles Gutierrez). He tells him about the accident, saying that a part of him died that night. After he tells Eddie that he’s not one hundred percent William Kaplan, they review the clues he’s gathered so far to figure out who he is. They plan to meet up with someone who may know more about Westview.
The next night, Eddie goes with William to meet the stranger who may know what happened the night of the accident. The stranger is Ralph Bonher (Evan Peters) from WandaVision. He tells them that he remembers everything from that night, stating that Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) had the town acting “weird.” William reads his mind and asks about Agatha, whom Ralph does not want to be asked about. Ralph tells them that Agatha hijacked his life, saying that she took his home. He mentions Wanda and Vision’s (Paul Bettany) kids. He says that they had kids, twins, Billy and Tommy, which are the names that William heard right before he woke up in the accident.
William goes back home and listens to music while he writes down notes on what he’s learned from Ralph. He tries to look up Agatha to see if he can find anything and comes across a very old photo. He begins to find pictures of her from 1972. He finds the Witches’ Road in one article and realizes it’s the same song he’s listening to, sung by Alice’s mother, Lorna Wu (Elizabeth Anweis). He leaves home and goes to Westview, where Agatha lives. This is the night that we saw in the first episode, of William sneaking into her home. He grabs the necklace and tries to escape from Agatha.
We then see Agatha sitting across from William in her home. She asks him why he snuck inside. He tells her he’s trying to help release her from a spell. She shows him pictures and asks him who’s in the pictures, but they’re just flowers. He starts to chant and Agatha begins to freak out, taping his mouth and shoving him in the closet. The next day, Agatha asks his name and he tells her that he’s William Kaplan. When she asks again, he says Billy Maximoff.
The episode has now gone back to the present time. Agatha is pulling herself from being buried in the ground. Agatha walks up from behind Billy, telling him she had a feeling when they first met of who he really was. Agatha tells him that he killed Jennifer (Sasheer Zamata) and Lilia, even though he didn’t mean to.
Billy tells Agatha that he doesn’t need her anymore. She figures out that he wants to find Tommy. The two of them go off to find the next trial on the Witches’ Road.
Overall, this was a great episode. It’s good to finally know who Billy is and how he got into the situation he was put in after stealing the necklace from Agatha in episode one. The only question is, what will happen when he and Agatha are done with the trials? Will he finally find Tommy?
