Previously on Disney+’s new series, Agatha All Along, we were reintroduced to the witch from WandaVision, Agatha (Kathryn Hahn). Agatha Harkness, who has a new life as a detective, reunites with an old associate, Rio (Aubrey Plaza), who makes her remember her old life by showing her the body of Scarlet Witch, also known as Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). Because of this, she meets a young teenage boy, whose name isn’t known (Joe Locke).
The second episode begins with Agatha being upset about her house, which has been somewhat destroyed after the fight with Rio. She tells the teenager who still had his mouth taped that he can have the house. He tells her to take him to The Witches’ Road. She asks for his name and when he says it, it’s muted, with a spell that closes his mouth as his name comes out.
They leave the house and Agatha tells him they will need a coven to make it to The Witches’ Road. As they drive off, they make it to a psychic shop and Agatha puts on a fake act to get information. The psychic plays along until she realizes that Agatha’s been trapped in a spell for three years, which is how long her memory was gone. The psychic, Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone) says she can’t help.
Agatha tells Lilia that she needs a divination witch and that Lilia could use the power at Witches’ Road as she’s experiencing hard times She also mentions that she can’t steal her magic unless Lilia blasts her with it. Lilia gives her a list of four names and tells her that’s all she can do until Agatha sees her (Lilia) name on it. The boy gives Lilia Agatha’s address.
The two of them then head off to find the next person on the list, Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), who’s very surprised to see Agatha. Kale’s magic is bound and she faces a major lawsuit for selling fraudulent products. After guilting her into working with them, the boy does the same thing as before, handing her Agatha’s address.
Next, the two of them are at the mall. They go to one of the stores, finding Alice Wu Gulliver (Ali Ahn), who Agatha wants as their protection witch. Agatha and Teen create a scheme that gets Alice fired from her security job. Alice believes The Road isn’t real and is a myth, but Agatha tries to convince her otherwise. Agatha brings up Alice’s mother, who was alleged to be lost on the Road. Alice simply rolls her eyes and walks away.
Agatha and the boy return back to the car, heading back to Westview. When she asks him where he’s from, he’s muted, just like when he tried to tell her his name. They make it back to the house and Jennifer is the first to come. Both Lilia and Alice come not long afterward.
Teen says that there was one last name on the list. Lilia says it was a black heart. Agatha lies and says she knows the final name is none other than her neighbor, Mrs. Hart (Debra Jo Rupp), aka Sharon Davis. They all go to the basement to begin the spell. Mrs. Hart is confused about what’s going on, getting the impression that it’s supposed to be a party. They begin to sing the song, The Ballad of Witches’ Road.
As they’re singing, Teen finds a bunny in the living room. As he picks it up, he notices something outside. It’s a person in a black cloak. As the song persists, the one person then becomes multiple. Slowly, they begin to come toward the house. The boy starts to block the front door.
Back downstairs, the witches have finished their chant, but nothing happens. Agatha begins to try to aggravate the ladies. Lilia notices, saying she’s trying to make them attack her so she can get their powers. The next thing we see is Mrs. Hart pointing out a mysterious door on the floor, which wasn’t there before. Agatha opens the door as Teen screams, running toward the basement as the cloaked people start to come into the house. He runs, going down the stairs of the mysterious door. Agatha closes it once they all make it down.
They reach the bottom of the stairs and notice it’s The Witches’ Road. Agatha takes her shoes off, the others following the same movements. As the episode comes to an end, they start their journey walking down the road.
Overall, this was a good episode, introducing Agatha’s new coven. Now that they’ve made it to The Witches’ Road, where will it take them?
