Zoë Kravitz to take part on screen and behind the scenes with getting tapped to join a new series. She will both star and executive produce in High Fidelity. The upcoming show is based on Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel, as well as, the 2000 feature that starred John Cusack. Kravitz will also be taking on Cusack’s film character, Rob Gordon. Also, in the original film adaptation Kravitz’s mother, Lisa Bonet, starred. The series will be streamed by Disney’s streaming service.
Kravitz’s character is the ultimate music fan. She is a record store owner that has an obsession with both pop culture and Top Five lists. With Kracitz joining the team, the series immediately received a 10-episode order. The remake is being written by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka. They are joined by Scott Rosenberg (who also co-wrote the film), Jeff Pinker, Josh Appelbaum, and Andre Nemec. It being produced by Midnight Radio, ABC Signature Studios, and ABC Studios.
By adding this romantic comedy, High Fidelity, Disney streaming services is set to offer a wide variety of shows. They have already announced genres such as: sci-fi, superhero, and kids/teen series as well. Kravitz credits include: HBO’s Big Little Lies as Bonnie Carlson and in the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald as Leta Lestrange.
