‘Young Justice’ Finally Gets A Confirmed Return Date

Young Justice Season 3 (branded as Young Justice: Outsiders) will premiere Friday, Jan. 4 on the new DC Universe digital subscription service rather then it’s previous host network, Cartoon Network.

Outsiders will feature the return of many of DC’s most beloved iconic young superheroes and the introduction of new characters, many of whom are just discovering their very own unique set of meta-powers and special abilities.

The new season, will be set against the backdrop of a universe that compliments the original DC Universe continuation, while further establishing it’s own mythology. Some plot points will involve the focus on meta–trafficking, and an intergalactic arms race for control of these super–powered youngsters.

The first two seasons of Young Justice, followed the lives of teenage superheroes and sidekicks who are members of a covert operation group under the guidance and supervision of the adult members of the infamous adult team, the Justice League. It also focuses on the lives of each teenage sidekick and their attempts to establish themselves as real superheroes apart from their adolescent personal lives and issues.

The main setting takes place in a parallel universe separate from the previously established DC alternative universes and other continuities, denoted as Earth-16 at one point. The time period differentiates itself by presenting the presence of superheroes as a relatively recent phenomenon that has caused the public to be wary.
