According to Deadline, the final chapter of Yellowstone season 5B has officially set a new benchmark for the series. With Live+3 results showing a staggering 13.1 million total viewers, the finale now holds the title of the most-watched episode in the show’s history. Overall, Season 5B averaged 13.6 million viewers per episode, surpassing season 5A’s 13.2 million by 3%.
Deadline reports on its original airing (December 15) across Paramount Network and CMT, the Season 5B finale pulled in 11.4 million viewers—a franchise-best performance. According to VideoAmp, this represents a 4% increase from the Season 5A finale, which drew 10.3 million viewers in Live+Same Day numbers. These figures come amid Paramount’s ongoing contract standoff with Nielsen, limiting their ability to share broader traditional metrics.
Viewership data for Season 5B has been relatively sparse, with Paramount releasing only select highlights. Deadline relays while the premiere enjoyed exposure across CBS and multiple cable platforms, the finale’s numbers provide a clearer sense of the show’s consistent weekly audience. Notably, Episode 4 of this season set its own milestone with a three-day viewership total of 12.1 million.
Paramount Global also highlighted the digital impact of Season 5B, reporting a 103% increase in social media views and a 68% boost in engagement—making it the most socially active season to date, via Deadline.
