

Deadline has reported that Xochitl Gomez (The Cat In The Hat, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness) has been set to play a recurring role in CBS’s upcoming police procedural Boston Blue. The Blue Bloods spin-off stars Donnie Wahlberg (Return Of The Mac, Blue Bloods). Gomez will play Penny, a woman with a keen intellect and murky past who finds her way into Sean’s world, played by Mika Amonsen (The Spencer Sisters, Thanksgiving).
According to Deadline, Gomez will make her debut on Friday, November 21st’s episode. Gomez got her start on Disney Channel on the show Raven’s Home, reaching further successes for her role in the Baby Sitters Club. She would later make her way into the MCU as America Cháves in 2022’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. She also hoisted the Mirror Ball Trophy with partner Val Chmerkovskiy (Being The Ricardos, Fuller House) on Season 32 of Dancing With The Stars.
Deadline has reported that Boston Blue made its debut in October as an extension of the Blue Bloods universe. The series centers on Wahlberg in the role of Danny Reagan, a former NYPD officer who makes his way to Boston and joins the force. Danny is partnered with Lena Silver, played by Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery, The Walking Dead), the heir apparent to a law enforcement dynasty.
According to Deadline, also joining the cast are Maggie Lawson (The Milk Chug, A Lot Like Christmas), Marcus Scribner (Black-ish, How To Blow Up A Pipeline), Gloria Reuben (Mr. Robot, Falling Skies), and Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, The Family Business). The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with JBTV. Brandon Sonnier (Alert: Missing Persons Unit, The Blacklist) and Brandon Margoli (The Blacklist, S.W.A.T.) serve as showrunners and executive producers. Jerry Bruckheimer (Remember The Titans, Top Gun: Maverick), KristieAnne Reed (Lucifer, National Treasure), and Wahlberg also take on executive producer roles.
