“According to ComicBook, Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels), the writer of Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s Ahsoka, gives an update on the second installment of the Star Wars series. Filoni, the showrunner of The Mandalorian and the Star Wars animation guru, states that he will still be the sole writer on Ahsoka season two This news may upset fans of the series because of how divisive the first season was.

Ahsoka follows former Jedi apprentice Ahsoka Tano and her allies as they fight the remnants of the Galactic Empire during the fledgling New Republic. Ahsoka and her allies investigate an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

“Good grief! I’m so well into that as well. I’ve been writing it and I’m still the single writer on it, so I’ve been enjoying doing that. But it’s a challenge of course, and working some of these arcs through has been a challenge, and making sure it’s all going to come out in a way that I think is exciting for fans,” Filoni said to Extra TV during the premiere of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. “I know they’re interested in where some of the things I developed in Season 1 go, so yeah… But I’m pretty happy with it! We’ll see. I love working with that team; love working with Rosario, so I can’t wait to get back to that…. It’s my next thing, I think, of my many things.”

The first season of Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson (Sin City) as Ahsoka Tano, David Tennant (Doctor Who) as Huyang, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Heroes of the Golden Masks) as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson (Accident Man: Hitman’s Holiday) as Baylon Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno (The Spy Who Dumped Me) as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto (Star Wars: Tales of the Empire) as Morgan Elsbeth and many others.
