Deadline has reported that Stuart Fails To Save The Universe appears to be gathering more infinity stones for its Big Bang Theory Multiversal spin-off. According to Deadline, Will Wheaton (Star Trek: Prodigy, Star Trek: Lower Decks) ,a recurring cameo in the mothership series, is set to reappear in the new series.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will depart from the original series. While likely still comedic in nature, there will be an action sci-fi tilt. It takes place after an experiment by The Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon and Leonard goes awry, fracturing the multiverse. Stuart played by Kevin Sussman (Wet Hot American Summer, Better Caul Saul), primarily known as the comic book store owner in the original, must endeavor to save the universe. He is joined by his girlfriend Denise, played by Lauren Lapku (The Wrong Missy, Orange Is The New Black), Bert, played by Brian Posehn (Knights Of Badassdom, The Sarah Silverman Program.), and Barry Kripke, played by John Ross Bowie (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jumanji: Next Level). During their journey, they will meet alternate-reality versions of some of the Big Bang Theory favorites.
Wheaton appeared in the new sizzle for a brief moment. His role is still unclear as he appeared to be an antagonist to the main group, firing a laser blast at them in Stuart’s comic book shop. His appearance is very brief,, so how much he will appear is also open to interpretation.
From seasons three to twelve, Wheaton appeared on the original 17 times. Wheaton first rose to prominence as Gordy in Rob Reiner’s (The Princess Bride, This Is Spinal Tap) Stand By Me. In the Big Bang Theory, he is mainly referred to for his role in Star Trek: The Next Generation. According to Deadline, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros Television.
